I started reading manga once I got into DBZ the anime. And the rest is history ^^

One of my friend's older brother's had been collecting Ranma 1/2 for a few years, and all of the manga was housed in her room. I just picked one up one day, and got stuck into it. I probably wouldn't have come so obsessed except then she decided that because I liked it so much she had to give me a manga of my own for my birthday...

I started reading manga five years ago when a friend showed me a manga version of one of my favorite anime series at the time. I thought it wasn't as good, but then she showed me a few others and I got really into it. I think I like manga more than anime now!

The reason I had picked up manga was basically for the reason of having something to read I thought of it as this, when the electricity goes out, then I will have something to do instead of watching the anime and plus, some manga's are actually better than the anime and you get to look at the plot going in a different direction

As much as I do enjoy anime and manga, I wouldn't call myself an outright "anime fan". I watch just as much North American animation as I do Japanese, if not more. I just enjoy animation as a whole, and anime fits into that category, too. As for manga, I tend to like comic books in general, so it pretty much just went the same way as anime for me.

I grew up with anime like DBZ and sailor moon, then I found it childish because I was getting into the skater scene but then gave that up watched an episode of FMA and fell in love with it. Then I found "comic books" in that style and got them for drawing purposes, read it, fell in love and now I want to write manga for a living. Ironic isnít it.

I got into it because my dad used to watch anime all the time, so I started watching different kinds. Later, I got into Fullmetal Alchemist, which made me think that there had to be a manga for it. I went to some bookstore, and after a lot of searching, finally found the first book. Now I have a ton of different manga I into now.
