And the rest is history ^^

Well...my parents own a comic book store, so I suppose it's kind of a given I'd get into manga. I starting reading it in early-elementary school, I believe, though I can't exactly remember.

One of my friend's older brother's had been collecting Ranma 1/2 for a few years, and all of the manga was housed in her room. I just picked one up one day, and got stuck into it. I probably wouldn't have come so obsessed except then she decided that because I liked it so much she had to give me a manga of my own for my birthday...

Though, I never did finish reading Ranma.

I started reading manga five years ago when a friend showed me a manga version of one of my favorite anime series at the time. I thought it wasn't as good, but then she showed me a few others and I got really into it. I think I like manga more than anime now!

I got into it because I hate reading, but then I got into anime. Which made me read manga, because manga is awesome!

The reason I had picked up manga was basically for the reason of having something to read laugh.gif I thought of it as this, when the electricity goes out, then I will have something to do instead of watching the anime happy.gif and plus, some manga's are actually better than the anime and you get to look at the plot going in a different direction wink.gif

I started reading manga cause its manga XD.
Real reason is that since my mom told me to read something when I was playing video games to much. So I said anything to read huh and then I got manga and then got more volumes then started downloading.

Mom forbidding it= Natural desire to rebel
Aunt who owns a comic book/video store= Means to rebel
Mom leaving me at the store while she goes out= Opportunity

So... it was basically that. Later on, I found out that the manga had a different POV from anime, so
I REALLY got into it. Now I prefer manga over anime.

As much as I do enjoy anime and manga, I wouldn't call myself an outright "anime fan". I watch just as much North American animation as I do Japanese, if not more. I just enjoy animation as a whole, and anime fits into that category, too. As for manga, I tend to like comic books in general, so it pretty much just went the same way as anime for me.

I got into through my friend. I think the first one I read was Cardcaptor Sakura Master of the Clow. All I remember thinking is, "Oooh so cute! So detailed! Loves!"

I actually got into anime after manga. Is that unusual?

I grew up with anime like DBZ and sailor moon, then I found it childish because I was getting into the skater scene but then gave that up watched an episode of FMA and fell in love with it. Then I found "comic books" in that style and got them for drawing purposes, read it, fell in love and now I want to write manga for a living. Ironic isnít it.

I got into it because my dad used to watch anime all the time, so I started watching different kinds. Later, I got into Fullmetal Alchemist, which made me think that there had to be a manga for it. I went to some bookstore, and after a lot of searching, finally found the first book. Now I have a ton of different manga I into now.
