I was at the American Premiere of the Dub on Monday.
The movie is amazing, no surprise since it is
a Studio Ghibli film, and Miyazaki is a genius.
It was quite different from the original book, and there were quite a few tangents where he included something that was really important to the story in the book, yet made no sense what-so-ever in the movie. I was particularly amused by the way they called the charecter "Michael" "Markl" even in the dub. Oh wells.
It was good as far as dubs go, so I highly recomend it. I still havn't seen it in Japanese though, so I guess I'm going to wait until the DVD comes out. I was particularly pleased since Diana Wynne Jones has always been a favorite Author of mine, and Howl's Moving Castle
was one of my favorite things to read when I was younger. If you have never read anything by her I recomend all of it, no matter how old you are. She's been writting Young Adult Fantasy for decades now, and was one of J.K. Rowlings main influences for Harry Potter
..Mostly what I found at that premiere is that I can
be stealthy lil' ninja when I want to... because in my fear someone I knew would see me there with my parents, I somehow managed to hide from my best friend... neither of knew the other was there 'till the next day, when we attempted to make the other jealous.
