And as a special bonus! Just when you thought it couldn't get any more orange.http://www.cosplaylab.com/cosplayers/costu...costumeid=71102
What is the point you ask? If you clicked on any of the above links I'm sure you would agree that none of them resemble Riza very closely. Well, so what? Cosplay is a hobby, one which many people participate in it. Why is this girl any different from any other cosplayer?
“i hate to revive this stupid topic, but i saw this costume at AX2005 and i was like OMFG it's the imaginary riza girlfriend!!”
You say you saw her at AX? So did I, but unlike you, I decided not to judge her before speaking to her. She is a very nice person, and the dress detailing is amazing up close. Did she do something to you personally? No? Then why are you so insistent on bashing her? You do not own the character, and neither does she. I guess you both have equal rights to do what you want with it, and she chooses to Cosplay it (not nearly as poorly as many others, I might add). If this is all about that imaginary girlfriend thing, I asked, it was a joke. She thought it would be funny, and she made some money in the process.
“Now if that was Real Riza who looked exactly the same itd be cool but that chick is creepy “
Due to the meaning of this sentence being obscured by the incorrect language usage, I can only venture a guess at the meaning. If I understand it correctly, it is truly one of the finer examples of bigotry to come out of this place yet. Are you saying that if Riza actually wore it, it would be okay, but because this girl invented it it’s not okay? Wow, this place really is full of extremist fanatics.
“can you believe that? come on, girl, just give up the hawkeye cosplaying... first orangehair!hawkeye and now this? at least if you're going to do a variation of the costume, make it an in-character one…”
Judging by the discriminative nature of this forum, I doubt an “in character” adaptation of the outfit would have amended your preconceived mind set about her cosplay anyway. Besides, according to the link you posted, it was for a masquerade ball gown contest.
I’m mainly posting this to show a diversity of opinion. It seems the majority of people here would rather jump onto the bigotry bandwagon than to seem out of place by stating something contrary.
