What's wrong with subbed movies. I would rather have subbed anime on TV than when they get their own voice actors and translate everything into dutch ( like with pokemon, yugioh and all the Fox Kids programs )

Kakakakaka~ anime in Dutch~ XD so true--!

Oh, were you talking to me? blink.gif Oh, I don't mind subbed movies at all! In fact, I strongly encourage the subbed versions. (seeing and hearing Yu-Gi-Oh/Beyblades in Dutch makes me crack up everytime, though Pokemon isn't even half-bad...It surprised me they didn't dub DBZ in Dutch) I just meant I forgot that Kenshin the Movie was subbed. It was a Movie.

Oh crap. blink.gif I just realized Kenshin the Movie we have isn't even subbed. We got the dubbed. T_T Sorry to all you American-dub-lovers, but those voice-overs, bluntly put, sucked eggs.

Just a little FYI, Dreamworks is releasing Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence in Japanese with English subtitles in American theatres next month. Probably only be a limited theatrical release though.

Dear, I hate FUNimation because they are a low-quality company. If you are going to insult me, at least use the slightest bit of wit or actual intelligence.

And, yes, I am sorry, but I *do* hate dubbed anime. I apologise if this inconveniences you at all or anything, since I am sure someone you have NEVER met enjoying something else is so completely offensive and horrendous that it makes you want to commit ritualistic SUICIDE in the middle of a highway.

I am not cursing the company out of spite because it is difficult to get subbed versions now, I am cursing the company because they honestly and truly are a bad company. (DBZ is a perfect example of their mutilation, and I've heard a lot of bad things about Shaman King, too)

I wouldn't be complaining if a company worthy of mention got their name on it, but noo, FUNimation decided to corrupt it with their warty, scabby little paws.

Now, please reply with a valid argument.

Thank you.

Vael, don't forget that Funi dubbed Fruits Basket too. Man, I literally wanted to throw up when I heard the dub-voices... *shudders* And the opening theme... I wanted to cry.

*sigh*
if only it had been ADV or Bandai that got the license... there would've still been hope for a decent or even good dub TT^TT

Vael, I am with you man.
But, no countries have voice actor better than Japan.
laugh.gif
I mean, voice actors have fan clubs in Japan.
I always try to get a way from dubb version.

Do you guys know how they license anime?

Do they just buy right for anime?
I wonder how much they pay for the copy right.

you know, the best anime voice actors in U.S market are at the Hentai market without joke.
laugh.gif
I am sure most of you know that they hire porn stars for the hentai.

I do not know why, but Hentai became so famous recent years, so there are some really famous actors are also doing voice acting for hentai in Japan. It never happened for a long time.
What a world!!

(A sub 'n dub war, how can I not join all the fun?!) Actually, I didn't mind the VAs of DBZ... much. But the fact that they used cheesy lines and censored most deaths ("No, I can see the parachutes, they're ALIVE!") did annoy me to some extent. OK, at first I just laughed my ass off, because I'd never seen such a stupid censorship before. laugh.gif

Well, I don't think I've ever seen/heard anything from "Bandai". "Madman" however - Orphen, Kenshin, Excel Saga. I thought they were pretty good!

unsure.gif Or is "Madman" just a company that sells DVDs (and has nothing to do with voice-actors)? laugh.gif;; Ah well~

And about Japanese being the best seiyuus... biggrin.gif I was always under the impression that, because I don't understand Japanese like I do Dutch and/or English, that Japanese viewed J voice-actors the same way we do the English voice-actors (emotionless, doll-like, uncomfortable with their roles, misfits - now I'm exagerating). A Japanese-American once made a review of an anime, saying the voice-actors' performances were below average while I didn't see anything wrong with it. Sometimes I even get annoyed with the Japanese version and just switch to English because it's grating on my nerves (not often but it does happen sometimes).

....I'm rambling. dry.gif

I was thinking about that last night. I personally haven't seen it; Someone at Otakon might have seen it. Generally they completely change the opening and ending for the American releases (I.E: Hellsing). And, once again, I fear FUNimation is going to make yet another mockery, here...
