@Kenji - Thanks!! ^^ It seems that that's his reply post to the preceding posts that were directed at his previous posting. I think, in this case, to better understand his post, we probably shouldn't take out that post alone and judge it, but to see it in the context, IMO.
Also, I checked, and the rest of his postings are fairly normal.
Therefor, I don't think that post alone would warrant me to take any action at this time.
But I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the tip. happy.gif

Not sure if this is the right place but...
Isn't it time someone stepped in here and put an end to the debate? It's not the right place to do that....XD

@baKa-neKoh - Thanks!! But, I'm not quite sure the topic parameter of that particular thread and exactly what is considered off-topic on that thread. And, since one of the participants of that discussion is a Mod, and a member, I trust he would keep it together. biggrin.gif

Update: It was not done by me, but a Split/off shoot thread was created in Debate District forum with that part of the discussion. Whoever got it done *coughIknowwhocough* thank you!! smile.gif

@baKa-neKoh - Nop, you're not in a wrong place. biggrin.gif
Yes, the post is containing a link to other site, but I checked the site, and seems the post author seems to be not the Admin nor a Mod of the site, (hence, possibly not the blatant advertisement) and since the way posted is kind of relevant to the topic of that thread, I decide to keep the post. But, thanks for the report!! smile.gif
(Though I could go either way and take out the post as a spam also, and if others feel more so that way, then please feel free to take any action. ^^)

It was advertising a chat box on another site though. It was nothing to do with a chat for here...

Popo is correct, and it's not talking about the chat here, but it's showing an example of a site having a chat box within a site. Hence I said it's "kind of" relevant to the topic of the thread.
As I said, I'm staying on a "generous" side with this interpretation, for now, and I may change my mind later and take out the post as a spam, or the link. biggrin.gif
(Or if others feel that way now, please feel free to take out the post and/or the link. ^^)

ehh.... the thread didn't really need to be "cleaned". A simple closing of the topic would have sufficed.

I wouldn't have deleted these junk posts, except, the pics posted on these junk posts were too large and stretching the forum page, and making it really hard to read, even the non-junk posts.

Since these are junk posts, I'm not going out of my way with my efforts to "edit" these posts just to preserve these junk posts. If Popo wants me to keep his "work" on the thread, next time, remember to shrink the pics before posting them so that it wouldn't stretch the forum pages. smile.gif

But the whole thread was over. It has no where to go and no "read again" appeal. Besides, the pages always stretch to the right and those lines were therefore short enough not to be effected by any page stretch. Even then, the forum resizes pics that would cause page stretch so wasn't any real problem...

I don't mind my post being deleted, it was just a bit of light hearted spam after all, but it just seems an odd choice to single that post out when you could have just locked the thread as is or deleted the whole, redundant thread.

You might knew the thread was over, or light hearted, or whatever because you read the thread content BEFORE you put those oversize pics, which in effect made it very hard to read the content of the thread to some who came AFTER that.

I come in, I haven't seen the thread before, I don't know if the thread is "over" or "lighthearted" or whatnot because I have not read the thread yet. I need to read the content of the thread to make a judgment on what have to be done, and if those SPAM pics are grossly stretching the forum page and making the thread very hard for me to read, then they are hindering me from performing my job. IMO, I have every right to remove those SPAM hindrances out of way so that I can actually READ the content of the thread and judge what has to be done.

I "singled out" those posts because that was the source of the hindrance for that particular thread. If the similar situation occurs and if I judge that the situation warrant it, then I will not hesitate to delete them again. If you do not want me to delete your similar SPAM posts in the future in the similar situations, then I advise that you keep your SPAM pics small enough so that they do not stretch the forum page to the point of I have such a hard time reading the content of the thread when I come in to the thread.
