I'm just now getting into the Davinci Code , it has been pretty good thus far. Anyone else read it?

It's fine as long as you know how to read French. huh.gif
A bit predictable.

re: DaVinci Code

It's an entertaining read but something about the writer's style irked me.

The way he put off the climax was so obvious and annoying that by the time he got to it, I didn't care very much anymore.

Ah, that's what I kind of meant. If he uses the same style in his other book I'm probably gonna skip his next book.

Excuse me, I had too much R. L. Stine as a kid.

The French bits made it seem a little exclusive, like you wouldn't entirely understand if you didn't know French. Good thing I knew much of the words he used, otherwise, I think I might not have enjoyed the book quite as much. Every little bit counts, I guess.

It also seemed odd that a Harvard Professor, an investigator, and a Scholar took so long to figure out some clues.

Ahh, yes, I found it all too predictable as well, and even solved some of the stuff before they did (does that mean I could be a Harvard Professor, too? ohmy.gif ). Everything moved kind of slow at times, especially when you know what's going to happen, but it takes forever to get there.

davinci code and angel and demons are both really good..you should also read digital fortress and deception point by the same guy..though it gets a bit repetitive after a while

It's basically a collection of essays and short stories. So far nothing you haven't read in all of her novels. I always knew her novels were semi-autobiographical (the main character always being an Asian woman married to some white guy with her pidgin-English-speaking mother).
