The article here:
http://www.animationmagazine.net/features/...n-u-s-theaters/
...says that Milos will be released in "over 100" US theaters this winter.

It looks like distribution might be determined by this poll:

http://www.funimation.com/rojas/blog/fullm...l-dates/1238991

ELEVEN ARTS and FUNimation sent out a press release today announcing theatrical showings for the Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos film. The movie will play in theaters across North America in late January, 2012.

A more specific release date, along with cities and theaters will be announced soon. For now, they suggest fans demand the film come to their city via Eventful.

The Sacred Star of Milos—directed by Kazuya Murata with animation by BONES—was originally released in Japan on July 2, 2011.

(edited obsolete link to go to Funimation blog)

ETA: Blah, still nothing in MN...

The table of places/dates doesn't cut & paste cleanly so go here:

http://www.funimation.com/rojas/blog/fullm...l-dates/1238991

PS: note that this list (not counting the vague Canadian count) is only 51 theaters, and they will still be adding more.

What's been with the website? It's been down a lot lately...

From http://otakuwhonewsradio.blogspot.com/2012...-screening.html
QUOTE
Fullmetal Alchemist London Screening with Guests June 8
There will be a screening of Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos on Friday June 8 at London's BFI Southbank Centre, near Waterloo station. The screening will be attended by the film's director, Kazuya Murata, who also has credits on Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Eureka 7; and also by Masahiko Minami, the co-founder of Studio Bones. The guests will give a Q&A after the screening. The event (not yet listed on the BFI site) is presented by Manga Entertainment, the BFI and Aniplex.

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos is a spinoff from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The film relates a previously untold adventure of the Elric brothers as they become involved with a rebellion in a distant valley.

The announcement was made during a 107-minute podcast which can be downloaded from the Manga UK blog.

Wow, London showing! That's exciting! Thank you for bringing the awesome news, Merlyn LeRoy! happy.gif

As for the board, we ran into some snag with our server, and we had to keep our board off-line while we took care of it. It took longer than anticipated, and we apologise for the inconveniences this has caused. sad.gif

It's great that the movie's getting a showing in the UK now. But it's a shame that I can't afford to go all the way down to London. (Not to mention endure the travel sickness if I were to go there. =X) laugh.gif
