I hope that Hiromu Arakawa herself will write the movie script, but since she said that she has nothing to add about Ed and Al's story, I don't think it'll happen.
Anyway, I think it would have been nice her writing about the separate adventures of Ed and Al, or just one of them, after they departed on different journeys. We would see more of Lin and Mei that way, too! ^^
Also, they could make a recap movie adding all the scenes they cut from the manga in the second TV series: one movie would be enough maybe, anyway they announced a FMA movie but didn't say that it'll be only one.
After all, we add two Gurren Lagann recap movies, why couldn't the same happen to FMA, too? If this is possible, I hope the movies will be three, that way they could make some nice recap movies adding all the left out scenes (and the remaining gaiden mini-chapters, maybe?). I think this would be better that a simple "filler" movie.
There is the possibility that they'll make a movie about one of the novels, too, as someone already mentioned, but those are "fillers" in a way, since as far as I know Hiromu Arawaka didn't write them...

I've read really good reviews of the Gurren Lagann recap movies, so even if it ends up being a recap movie, there's still a chance for it to be good. But it just feels like a recap movie would more likely be a low-quality product that won't achieve anything but drive the franchise into the grave. I really hope Bones is smarter than that. FMA is a brilliant story, but there's only so many times you can retell it without killing it, and let's face it, FMAB didn't really innovate anything. Yes, that is exactly what we as fans wanted at the time, a truly faithful adaptation that does justice to the story, and the second series did that with flying colours, but do we really need yet another truly faihful adaptation?
That's why I don't really see it being a recap movie, and would prefer a midquel or prequel, even if they would derail from the original concept as badly as FMA-1 or CoS did.

I'm not quite sure this is in the right section, Raichi.
But yes, a movie was announced after the last episode of FMA: Brotherhood (episode 64) was aired. More information about it is yet to be released. And if I'm thinking correctly it was announced on 4th July.
