Summary: Father's sacrifices awaken. Father, now in a body resembling Hohenheim when he was much younger, claims that he has absorbed God by using the souls of the people of Amestris. However, Hohenheim explains that he has made a transmutation circle of his own using parts of his Philosopher's Stone that is connected by the shadow of the eclipse. The array causes the souls of Amestris to leave Father and be guided back to their bodies by the souls from Xerxes. Father blasts energy at the group, but Hohenheim and May block it. Wrath and Scar continue their battle, but when Wrath is blinded by light for a moment, Scar destroys his arms. Ranfan arrives and Wrath has a few last words before he dies. Scar activates the giant reverse array his brother came up with which reverses Father's deactivation of alchemy. It turns out that Father had made a buffer zone out of Philosopher's Stones and without it, alchemists can now control more power in their alchemy with no fear of Father deactivating it. Ed, Al, and Izumi attack Father, and are joined by Greed. Father decides to retreat to obtain more Philosopher Stone. Everyone follows, except Edward, who stays to fight Pride. Pride tries to take over Ed's body, but Kimbley, from within him, won't allow it. Edward destroys Pride's container and Pride reverts to a very small baby. Edward leaves to join the others. - © Penguintruth, used with permission and taken from his blog.

Please follow these simple rules;

-Do not spam.
-Add spoiler tags to spoilers
-Do not go off topic
-Do not fight

Spam means one line posts that contain little content. "OMG that ep was so cool" would be an example of spam. If you enjoyed the episode please specify what you enjoyed so much, was there anything you didn't like?

Spoilers mean anything you know will happen in upcoming episodes. Not everybody reads the manga and you may reveal something they didn't know. For future episode discussion, please go to the relevant topic. If you are unsure how to use spoiler tags, please ask.

Going off topic means discussing a characters actions outside of the episode, or talking about the artwork, or upcoming episodes etc. I know this can happen easily so don't be upset if I move your posts or guide you in the right direction. Double check the forum for the right place to take your post, or if required, start a new topic.

Everybody can voice their opinion, and nobody is correct just as nobody is incorrect. Because none of you will spam (right?) people will justify why they didn't like something. You are welcome to say "well I like that part because..." but you CAN NOT say "no you are wrong because..."

My initial thoughts:

- No OP? Woah, serious business.
- Woah, Father's usual voice coming out of that new body is weird.
- Typical villain mistake. STOP TALKING AND JUST KILL THEM, STUPID.
- OH HEY, LET'S RESOLVE THE BEST CLIFFHANGER IN THE STORY ALMOST IMMEDIATELY
- Cha-La, Head Cha-La.... oh, right, sorry. Thought I was watching Dragon Ball Z for a few moments.
- Oh, Bradley, you so crazy.
- And, of course, Scar's brother is the mega genius hero of the whole story. *cough*rubbish*cough*
- Guys, can't you just point Roy in the right direction and tell him to blast some fire? He's just standing there, pointlessly!
- STOP GOING AT BRECKNECK PACE! SLOW DOWN, DAMN IT!
- Well, at least this part with Pride looks awesome.
- This part with Kimbley, however, makes no effing sense whatsoever and is complete B.S.
- This part with Ed entering Pride is even more nonsense.

I'm going to vomit after this episode.

- No opening this time?
- Old Fatherís voice doesnít suit sexy Father at all.
- Hoho looks serious. And the counterattack begins.
- Wow, the soul tornado.
- So this is why we didnít have an opening. Rain is an insert song now.
- May and Hoho are great.
- I see epic animation in the Bradley vs. Scar fight.
- Bye Bradley.
- Bones loves using Battle Scherzo for epic scenes.
- Oh, the talk about the alchemy in Amestris.
- Scarís brother got lots of flashbacks. Well, he was the first who realized what's going on.
- Izumi & Sig reunion.
- Aww, the Roy & Riza scene.
- Pride looks very creepy with one shadow eye.
- Kimbley cameo!
- Ed, youíre so awesome.
- And hereís baby Selim.
Great episode again, it covered almost 2 chapters.

Mmm, I love that sound. Is there anything that strikes a more beautiful note than the sound of two indomitable wills colliding with each other?

Hot!Father has the same voice as the old Father? That's... terrible. Well, I'll save my judgments until I've seen the episode. Still, it covers 105 and 106? That's a lot of material to blaze through...

Hey, one of those shots of Hohenheim in the beginning was from the 4th OP! laugh.gif

Anyway, I think this episode covered a little too much. There was some action from the beginning of Chapter 105 and 106 cut, namely this favorite page of mine. So things seemed a little less DBZ-ish, but Hohenheim throwing the purple ball up in the air was cool. And the music placement wasn't anything like last episode, though I did like "Fanfare for the Brave" at the end.

The first five minutes or so with the soul tornado bit felt rushed the most, but Wrath's demise and Pride's defeat were fine. That's a really cool way to go out, Bradley, catching that sword in your mouth like that and stabbing Scar in his side.

And so Bones really does ship Royai. Riza wasn't trying to hold her hands out to Roy in the manga when she found out he went blind.

I don't know about this episode, maybe I need to wait for subtitles, but at the moment episode 60 was definitely superior.

this has got to be one of the most epic episodes of this show. hands down.
no op is wat i'd predicted bones would do....so im happy
awesome animation (budget blown) fa sure
scar vs bradley (more awesomeness from kameda)
lots of fast paced stuff
tbh , hoho's plan worked better for me in the anime than in the manga..there was the sense of rush and the souls returning to their bodies made perfect sense...
pride's misery was better depicted in the anime , tan in the manga

GREAT EPISODE OVERALLL

First thought after the end:
WAH it was so fast! But I liked it, I can't wait for subs.T___T Just one thing disappointed me, and it's Father's voice. I thought they'd have put some damned hot sexy younger voice, but... Oh well, never mind. He's so sexy. *cries*

And, oh, I loved Bradley face while he was dying. T__T He was somehow... sweet.

Not my favorite episode, it seems kind of rushed, and they cut one of my favorite joke: http://www.onemanga.com/Full_Metal_Alchemist/106/027/
Father's voice was odd: I thought they would used young Hohein's voice.
I always had some problem with the final Pride-fight: Edward entering Pride in his mind? That doesn't sound like FMA. But Kimblee's appearance was nice.

There's nothing odd about Father having his usual voice. Well, maybe he should sound younger. But if he had another VA - like young Hoho's - THAT would be odd. He didn't get Hohenheim's voice when he originally got his body. He kept his own. So there's no reason for him to have a voice change now. Father's "soul" has it's own voice, just like Al's and Greed's, and apparantly this fact is not affected by whose vocal cords in use.

The episode was too fast-paced for my likings.

It cut some bits from fight with Father and the scenes that remained didn't have such impact as in manga.

Everything just "happened"

I think the only bit I've found quite nice was openingless beginning and the silence.

--------------------
Due to the cancellation of the end of FMA, Kasumisty must think of new signature.

It may take a while.

This episode had a LOT of content in it, and I can really feel the 64 episode limit taking its toll. However, I think that someone who hadn't read the manga would like the episode just fine. I think they're rushing it here, so the final battle can have 3 episodes. I think it'll be okay.
