Little Washu, Nobuo Uematsu composed the music in Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. I really do like some of his piano scores; he really hasn't branched off into composing music for anime though. I'm still crossing my fingers that Ooshima will be rehired for the second series.

maybe they'll get vic to sing...

Why would they? He's just some VA nobody in Japan knows or cares about.

Actually people in Japan DO know him it seems.

Remember the Japanese have a hard on for English and are fanatical bastards. You don't think some of them found a way to watch the English dub?

I'm sure a few did but I still doubt the majority of them really care that much about him or the BONES would even consider him for the soundtrack.

Yeah there's no reason he would be considered for the soundtrack, unless he went to extremes to make them consider him.

I'd love it if Ooshima Michiru returned to compose the OST for the new season. biggrin.gif If not...well, I thought of Nakagawa Koutarou. It would be an interesting change to have him compose songs for a non-mecha anime (because I first heard his pieces in GUN×SWORD and Code Geass, two mecha series).

We may not have Bratja again, but maybe we could get Kuroishi Hitomi to lend us her beautiful, delicate vocals and compositions. Plus, she often works with Nakagawa-san.

But I agree, Kajiura Yuki and Kanno Youko are great composers too. I loved their works from Tsubasa and Cowboy Bebop, respectively. Yup, there's my three choices for composer if they don't get Ooshima-san again.

For opening/ending themes...Flow? Access? Ali Project (though yeah, that might sort of be a long shot for a series like FMA)? There's nothing wrong with bringing back the old artists though; they were awesome in the first series.

Oh, after browsing through Gendou's request list, I spotted 'Promised Land' by L'Arc~en~Ciel as 'FMA OP 5'. Now, I haven't the slightest if this is an OVA OP, but it might be the OP for season 2.

It's not. It's the track that came with "Lost Heaven" or whatever the song they did for the movie when they released it as a single.

I've had that song for over a year now actually. :x

Oh, Lost Heaven! That's the best of the best! I often get emotional each time I hear this song after watching Shambala.

I actually found out that Halcali is doing a Naruto Shippuden ending. Maybe they'll do an FMA one, I like their music a lot.

Not that it would ever happen, but I think that inserting some E Nomine, Lesiem, or Within Temptation scores into the opening or closing sequences for the second season would be quite monumental and fitting. I was satisfied overall with the in-episode background music throughout the first season, so I would welcome more of the same in that department.

^Assuming those are American bands, then no. It probably wont happen. They usually use J-pop/J-rock. I think the only time I've heard an American song used was Danny California in the first Death Note movie.

Who knows? Maybe the bands/singers from season one will be willing to do another for season 2. Or, maybe they'll have the cast(Japanese) sing, like they seem to do a lot nowadays.

As a point of information, E Nomine and Lesiem are German groups, and Within Temptation is Dutch. And as I said previously, I am well aware of the fact that there is virtually no possibility of the works of any of these groups being included in the new season of Fullmetal Alchemist. I simply think that the music produced by these artists would be fitting for the series in terms of mood and overall tone.

^ It's funny, Danni California really suited that movie in a bizarre way.

I'd be pretty happy for Ooshima Michiru to return. His music isn't epic or anything, but he did a nice job in the first series. It'd be great if L'Arc~en~Ciel came back and did an opening theme, too.

I'd absolutely love it if Yoko Kanno came and did Fullmetal, but as someone else said, it's not quite her thing. She's just amazing though, every time I hear a Bebop song I go nuts (Mushroom hunting!!).

Her and she. Michiru Ooshima is a woman.

Maybe Fictionjunction YUUKA will give us an ED. I sure hope so.

I can't really say much considering I only started paying attention to musical scores in anime when I started watching FMA last year, but I do hope they re-hire Oshima. Her scores for the movie were outstanding!

As for the opening and ending themes, I agree with Washu: we could use a bit of UVERworld and TM Revolution, though I wouldn't mind an abingdon boy school song in there.
