I'm currently watching the Funimation stream right now (well trying to is more like it as the servers are getting hammered) and looks like they're doing a fantastic job with the subbing.

Great job on Funimation's part and hopefully they can announce the English cast soon. It'd be nice if they were able to release the first part of Brotherhood around the same time that they will in Japan.

Trying to do the same - the video is loading at an abysmally slow pace though. I haven't even made it to the first conversation yet. XD

I think that's why IMDB noted 15% rise in popularity of this series xd

Due to the cancellation of the end of FMA, Kasumisty must think of new signature.

It may take a while.

Heh, I started around 9:20am and it's now finished at 11:20am. Two hours to stream a show that's less than thirty minutes... sleep.gif. Hopefully Funimation can beef up their servers for next week's episodes or this is going to a nightmare to watch without having to resort to fansubs/raws.

Tell me about it. dry.gif

I've officially made it to the first subtitles! The freezing alchemist, huh? I liked Ice Alchemist better, but so far the flow of the dialogue is going much more smoothly than the fansubs.

I still find Isaac's: "Freezing and boiling. Both attributes of water." to be an awesome line and a great introduction to the newbies out there to alchemy. Talk about a first impression! It's funny, I actually root for Isaac more in this episode than any of the main characters. The guy's got some guts - he actually makes manga Marcoh look like a bit of a pushover.

Gahaha, yap, I'm trying to watch it now on Funimation, and it's very taxing to say the least. tongue.gif
On the other hand, as it loads slooowly with my slow computer, then it stops completely (because of the server at Funimation being taxed, I suppose) then I have a plenty of time to stare at the stop-motion pic of the anime with the sub. laugh.gif

ETA: With my slow computer, this is basically too painful right now. XD
I will try later again when it'd (hopefully) be less busy. ^^

Didn't even bother trying to watch until the end of the stream (they were probably previewing next week's episode though I already saw them from the fansubs) as I was annoyed with the streaming. I'll probably try again tonight once the traffic's died down but I really appreciate Funimation's effort to bring this to the fans as soon as possible.

It's funny, but I still love both reactions of Roy and Ed when they were told to listen to their elders as well as their overreactions when people underestimate them.

Oh man, this is great!

Elysia: "So big...so small." laugh.gif

Ed: "Let me go. Let me go, Al! Don't stop me!!!" *flails*

My enjoyment of these scenes has increased ten-fold.

EDIT: And finally, after two hours, the stream is complete. The winner for most delicious line of episode one goes to Isaac: "You don't understand the shape this country's in."

Legendary irony.

Streaming on Funimation. Slowly. I think I may be past the OP now. Nevertheless, it looks promising, and I'm grateful that Funimation took the time to do this. smile.gif

Maybe it's good that I decided to wait until tomorrow to watch it on Funimation.com. Maybe I won't have to wait two hours to watch a show that's a half hour. lol
I think that Funimation.com should not just show the episodes on their site. Like show it on Hulu.com or Veoh. They have some of their shows on those sites. It'll free up some of their servers.

Any news on how many episodes will FMA - Brotherhood have? I've heard rumors of it being only 52, and to me that is pretty short.

Very unsubstantiated rumors. Direct quotes from people working on it say that there's no set limit on the number of episodes yet. I don't see how they could fit it all into 52 episodes, considering the manga isn't even finished yet. 78 (three seasons) makes more sense to me if I had to take a guess. I guess it depends 1. how much they rush the series, 2. how much longer the manga goes on...assuming they follow the manga to the very end.

Hey...this is off-topic!

Erm erm erm...can't wait for episode 2! Loved the action in the first episode.

I hope they don't rush it too much though. Sure I like dynamics but I after giving it some thought I hope they won't rush it too much. I like how all the drama and the motions sink in if you go just the right pace. When I read that the Tucker and Lior story is just going to be one episode each I was a little bit dissapointed.. but ah well those are just rumours and even if it's true if they manage to still make a great performance, I'll be happy happy.gif

I'm personally quite satisfied- maybe I'm the only one, but I really WASN'T looking forward to the Lior episode. I didn't take to it in the first series, and it would have been tiresome, at least for me, to see a 3rd rendition of the same story - despite the fact that I felt Ed's introduction was about 100 times less dramatic (*GASP* Automail! *GASP* Alchemy without circle! *GASP* He's a shrimp!!!). However, I liked the way they simply threw us into the action, and I have a feeling the sense of tension about the brothers' past will be regained with the next episode, which will probably be a flashback one.

Also, Central looks a lot less Nazi/Communist/boring than in the first series. And since it does pay a rather important role in the story, I was sort of happy the first episode took place in it.

First episode was really good. I thought that they did rush through introducing the characters a bit and felt the need to push them all in one episode. If I didn't already know the characters I would have never remembered them all, so it was more fan service than introduction in a way...and I wanted more Elric brothers action. I thought the animation was great and I love the new art style, Music was pretty awesome too. The opening and ending where a little off and..feminine if that's the word for FMA, but its a brand new series and it doesn't seem that it will have the same feel to it.
