Resident Evil 1

A movie depicting the hypothetical possibility of a virus being created in a secret laboratory. A minor conspiracy to obtain the research eventually causes the 'Red Queen' to close down the secret base, killing all workers inside. The story plays out with a military regiment attempting to shut down the base before the virus potentially escapes or the research becomes compromised.

I personally loved the depiction of a secret, underground base and overall, it was an alright movie.

drink up, baby, stay up all night
the things you could do, you won't but you might
the potential you'll be, that you'll never see
the promises you'll only make

drink up one more time and I'll make you mine
keep you apart deep in my heart separate from the rest
where I like you the best and keep the things you forgot

the people you've been before that you don't want around anymore
that push and shove and won't bend to your will
I'll keep them still

13 Assassins (DVD is available for rent, in Japanese with fairly decent English sub)

A 2010 Japanese samurai movie. Directed by Takashi Miike. 141 min.

The story is set towards the end of Edo era. Shougun's brother, Lord Naritsugu is a psychotic evil, and so one of the senior government officials secretly order his assassination. The movie tells how the assassination was executed by a group of 12 samurai worrier plus one commoner, by attaching him and his entourage on their journey from Edo back to his homeland.

The movie got 96% rating on Rotten Tomato, and I agree with the rating. It's a well made movie. The first half of the movie shows how 13 of them were gathered, and how they planed the attack, and the last half of the movie, shows how they executed the attack, with final hour filled with gritty fighting scenes.

The movie is not for everyone, but if you like samurai movie, this one is one of the best-made in recent years, IMO.
