I didn't see this posted before, so if it already is, I appologize.

This is a topic to discuss Tim Burton's movies: which ones you like, love, which ones you own, which ones you've seen, your favorites, other things about his movies, etc.

Tim Burton's movies are so cool! I love the stop-motion movies! My favorite is Corpse Bride biggrin.gif ! I love that movie so much! I love Charlie and the Chocolate Factory smile.gif , and I like Nightmare Before Christmas, though it isn't my favorite. I've seen Vincent... it's not one of my favorites mellow.gif ...

I swear this topic did exist once, or at least a Nightmare Before Christmas one did.

Anyway bar Piwi's Big Adventure (can't get it my region) and Planet of the Apes (hate it) I have all the other Burton films from Vincent through to Corpse Bride. Not all of them are fantastic, but certainly his greatest pieces are the ones starring Johnny Depp.

Edward Scissorhands is probably my favourite film he has directed (keeping in mind he didn't actually direct The Nightmare Before Christmas). I do love his poems, but certainly with the Oyster Boy collection they can blend into one big 'emo' project.

Corpse Bride was good, but it did feel somewhat short. There seemed to be places where more story could have been. But it was nice to see animation other than cartoon and computer animated...there are so few now.

Frankenweenie is cute, and of course Vincent was the first of his animations, also depicting that certain Burton style of art. Set him on the road to the auteur he is.

Ed Wood is one most people forget, or may not even at first realise its Burton, but that is another good piece.

Like I said I only really dislike Planet of the Apes, which as much as it might have looked Burton-esque, he made it for Hollywood and not himself.

No idea, but I am quite sure it has little to do with Tim Burton films. I think Burtons next piece will be Sweeny Tod (I do hope so)

His Batman films were an interesting spin on the genre, but he's far better at the fantasies like Big Fish

Hmm...I think you're right, Alchemist_of_Time, "the strange world of jack" might be Nightmare Before Christmas, because it might be called the strange world of jack in a different language.

Hm. I need in on this.

Anyway, I've heard about Sweeny Todd,
And I loved Big Fish, The Nightmare before Christmas, Along with a few other classics.
Edward Scissorhands is a masterpiece.

Sweeny Todd Will be another Burton/Depp colaboration, correct?
I can't wait!

My mom seems to remember a short movie, something to do with a boy and/or a dog on a train or something. Familiar, anyone?

^ She might be reffering to Frankenweenie, boy brings his dog back to life after it gets run over. Villagers hate the creature until it saves Victors life.

Funderful- Yeah, Sweeny Todd is supposed to be Burton/Depp. laugh.gif

I was thinking about Corpse Bride... *possible spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen it* (scroll down)

If Lord Barkus had stabbed Victor at the end of the movie (and Victor died), then Victor would be able to marry Emily. (I don't believe I'm about to say this, but...) I wish Victor would've died at the end(so he could marry her). Anyone else agree with me??

pirate-alchemist- I love Burton/Depp movies smile.gif ! Those two are a dynamic duo! Actually, Tim Burton and Danny Elfman make a dynamic duo also.

I just saw Edward Scissorhands on the bus to my field trip on Tuesday. That is a cool movie, but I didn't know it was PG-13, so I wasn't expecting those.... inappropriate parts of the movie... But I was confused during that movie because my teacher skipped two scenes, and all of a sudden Edward was being arrested and I had no idea why unsure.gif ... Wasn't it Johnny Depp's first movie?
