First time FMA manga readers, please post your thoughts and discussions on chapter 65 here. smile.gif

For info on the "Reading Reference", go to page 8.

=====================

Uwaa! Just like the rumors say, they'll go livid if you say "Month-long wait!"

We've all wanted to meet our childhood heroes, but few of us would sell ourselves short in doing so. After narrowly avoiding death by fan secret service, the Tiny Alchemist and his brother Alphonse decide to take a ticket north, where Scar's been hit by *snap* a smooth criminal (Yoki are you okay? So, Yoki are you okay? Are you okay Yoki?), and the ever cheery sunny-side up Marcoh and Mei Chan the Explora set out to find Scar's Brother's complete works (abridged). Back at the boarder, Edward and Alphonse have reached Briggs, only to do battle with Ash Williams' stunt double and hair stylist. Due to server lag and Brigg's l33t CS clan, it appears our heroes have been taken captive by Armstrong's sharp-eyed illiterate sister, General Olivia Milla Armstrong.

Had to do some navigating and quick-drawing to get this posted in spite of the errors. Another victory for man over machine.

Attention Manga Lust fans:
Lust is dead. Finished. Kaput. Joined the Choir Invisible. Roy Mustang incinerated her repeatedly until her Philosopher's Stone dried up and dissolved into nothingness ("Mu" for you Japanese cultural enthusiasts). And she will remain killed off, written out of the plot. Greed was reincarnated because Father saved his Philosopher's Stone and had a guinea pig on hand. Lust is gone. Stop trying to play God with the plot line and bring her back at every possibly junction.
In the event that Hiromu Arakawa can skillfully maneuver around this narrative plot hole, I will eat my words with a pinch of salt.

The only thing I can think of right now is that its apparent Ed has to get something added/changed about his automail. They know what to do in the cold climbs so I can only imagine it will be in this chapter.

Hmmm... this is a good way to get Winry involved in the story again.

Does anyone else think she might follow him up north to make the necessary alterations? It's been a while since we've seen her, and chapter 64 DID have that one scene with Winry and Garfiel back in the shop. If Garfiel really feels that Ed is in danger, he might encourage her to make the trip.

But what I'm really eager to find out is more about ScarBro's research notes on Rentanjutsu that he hid up there...

And more of sis-Armstrong is going to be interesting. Can't wait to find out more about her.

I think Ed will have to cave in and call Winry to come upgrade his automail. It's not like she could find him by herself, since she doesn't know his location (she knows he went up North, but not exactly where). But he'd have to convice the General that he's legit before he can use her phone. smile.gif

Well I think it will involve Winry, as I've stated elsewhere why would we see Garfiel saying what he did to her? Its obviosuly going to worry her.

But in saying that the military team must knowhow to upgrade it too, so maybe they will. Of course, I hope its Winry.

Though my theory is she's is going to go to find him and get herself caught since its safer for her to stay away from him. Its probably not going to happen like that at all but it made me wonder.

^^ Yeah, I'm hoping Winry will come and fix Ed's automail.
And, judging from how fast Ed and Al traveled to the North (in one chapter!!) she could get there fast, too!! tongue.gif

This is true... no way Winry could locate Ed up in the great white north all by herself! Now, Ed convincing the General to let him use her phone (if there even ARE phones up north...) would be a funny scene. XD

I have a feeling Gen. Armstrong is going to grow to be quite a favorite character of mine.

Also, I'm curious about the interaction between Ed and Al and the Fuhrer's son that was there in the beginning of 64. There has got to be some major signifiance to that. It seemed like Arakawa woudl not throw something that seemingly "random" in there without an intention to elaborate upon it later. I know it was a running point for a while that the Fuhrer's son had admired the Elrics, now the fact that they have MET each other (and talked to his wife as well) leads me to believe that this will come into play again.

At least I'm convinced that the wife and child are not aware that the Fuhrer is a Homunculus.

Of course she will! And I'm sure that Ed will call Rush Valley and Garfiel will tell him "She has already gone, you pathetic and useless runt! A man shouldn't make worry a young lady!" laugh.gif After all to find Ed is not hard : you ask for a tiny man and a big suit of armor, and you can be sure you will find them!

Sure, the military will try. But I'm sure that their automail specialist will say that this one is far too sophiscated for him to repair (or so I hope).

Personnaly I wonder if General Armstrong will "order" her to put some weaponry in Ed's automail...

I've been reading on a few boards lately that FMA will end in 16 chapters. Granted, this is probably just worry-some fan theory based off Hiromu Arakawa's vague estimate at the end of the series, but some of them seem quite bent on this idea. Besides, worrying is one my finely tuned abilities.

So, what do the masses think? I doubt it, but it does bother me to think the end might be so soon.

*pops head into conversation*

FMA ending in 16 chapters?I highly doubt it.To me that seems a bit rushed...But that's just me.That and I would be extremly dissipointed that it would end so soon.Unless the ending is really good. But I'm able to like just about any ending as long as it isn't "...It was all a dream..."

...Gosh.Now I'm worried. D:

Perhaps they means that when it will begin its 'final story?' There is just so much to deal with, and a few small stories going on it would be a little rushed.

It has been said, at the end of the Ishbal flashback, that the manga will end in 20 chapters, and that Arakawa didn't intend to do more that 20 tomes. That's seem realistic to me, even if I think il will be between 20-25 tomes rather than exactly 20 tomes.

I don't even want to think so far ahead as the ending yet. That's too much for my addled brain to handle. For now I'm just going to trust that it will be quite a while before the manga gets close to wrapping up.
