QUOTE (Gimpyhair @ Jun 12 2009, 08:22 PM) *
I am totally wondering what he is saying at the last panel: they are both hilarious!

@Gimpyhair - I can't post the translation for the whole thing because of the part of content that goes over PG 13, (that reminds me... someone should edit and add the appropriate warning for that link also... I know adults readers would love that, but we have to go by our very sanitized PG13 standard on our board.) Sorry.. ^^
But anyway.. basically, that comic is about Roy in the hospital after the fight against Lust, and Riza was volunteering to be a nurse and be on Roy's side (and partly protecting Roy) because it's too dangerous for the regular nursing staff to do this assignment.... or, was it??? XDD
And, the very last panel is kind of like saying:
Roy: "...and, that's the dream I just had. By any chance, would you care to act that out for me?"
Riza: "REQUEST respectfully DENIED!! Just what a heck were you thinking?!!"
(or something like that. XDD)

Aww... Roy's dreamy fantasy got denied... XDDD

@rinoaebastel - Video and fanart! You're good!

@hand-made-city - I like the forst picture more, Riza's tattoo is visible... but the second one's got burning village, so the background's better in the second one... oh, wait.... can't make my mind. Hope you recover quickly, get well soon! smile.gif

@Causmicfire - Wow, some reading... must read the previous chapters some day, looks nice.

@amestris_star & Kale - I can see you enjoy yourselves very much in this laugh.gif

@everyone - OK, you guys inspired so much that I swear that I come up with something on the next Roiai day. This was too much fun, overload of Roy and Riza happy.gif

And now... I officially proclaim that Riza not having vases is an obvious lie. Meaning, it's Roy Mustang, the Flame Alchemist, she tells this. Don't say he can't just make her one biggrin.gif He can take some stones before he enters the house her appartment's in, draw a circle and -what a miracle- she's just gotten a new one!

And thanks for the translation, totally hilarious >D

And thank you for the comments on the fic, we're totally enjoying ourselves with that XD

@Everyone: THANKS FOR EVERYTHING! (Even the lovely comments on the fic biggrin.gif)

PS. I'll definitely won't forget Royai Day 2009... so much love <3

rinoaebastel and hand-made-city--More awesome fanarts! I love them all!

SneakyRuler--That thing about the vase is so true! But I think he just gets that something's not right and that him being there, bad as it is to say, won't make it right, and might even make it worse.

Tombow--Thanks for the rough translation! Poor Riza... she has to put up with so much! But that's part of what makes Royai so endearing, I guess.

Ah, Royai Day festival '09 draws to a close... well, not for about 7 more hours here, but I digress...

It's been awesome, seeing all this new stuff put up. All the icons, fanarts, amvs, fanfics (which I WILL look at sometime in the next century... er... heh, heh?), links to said items... It's all just been wonderful! And all the new people who showed up--STICK AROUND! The festival is over only in name. In spirit, it lives on! There's always something to discuss, whether it's "Will they be in the next episode/chapter?" or "What's their future?" or even "This song is SO Royai that it's not even funny!"

And then there's all the fics, arts, amvs, and links that show up outside of Royai Day.

But back to discussions. I was in my mom's classroom today (AGAIN), and I was reading the Literature book to see if they still had my favorite in there, which, of course, they did. "The Highwayman" is one of those poems I just love to death, and I started thinking about Roy and Riza as I read it, specifically about Riza's encounter with Pride and her phone call with Roy afterwards. Thankfully, they're both still alive, but it just kind of made me think about how similar the situations really are. Does this make sense, or am I spouting nonsense?

JackSparrow589 - Not spouting nonsense at all. I can see the connections.

Yes, newcomers stick around! The festival may be drawing to an end, but we're always talking about something to do with RoyAi, and don't feel sheepish about brining up something we've discussed before, it's always great to read different p.o.v.'s.

Didn't go to work today, had an allergic reaction to something. I should go work on some fic.

Also, since we had so many contributions this year, I'm wondering if we should open a RoyAi Festival '09 thread in he fanworks section with all the links to everyone's work.

A made an icon w/ a couple text variations to share.

These first ones are 150X150, to put in sigs, profiles, whathaveyou:

Then the actual 100x100 sized icons:

Tombow - Thanks for the rough translation, that was probably the only part I couldn't guess the meaning of. Thank you for your kind words happy.gif

SneakyRuler - Thank you. I haven't actually worked on that theme list in a while, my Olivier fic and second run of the RoyAi 100 themes take priority, but a proposal was a must for the theme of the Festival. Also, true about the vase thing. Once, in a fic I wrote Roy using alchemy to transmute a door out of a hospital, and someone commented "But, he can only make fire, you can't do that."

@Causmicfire, hand-made city, amestris_star, and rinoaebastel - nice contributions everyone! Thanks to you all ^^!

Aww, only about 20 minutes left of the Royai festival in my timezone. But it was awesome, I'm so glad to have been a part of it! biggrin.gif

So, on a rather unrelated note, I was watching Baccano! just now and Czes kinda looks like how I'd imagine Roy to look as a kid, although the eyes are different...

I was watching it and was like O.O that boy looks familiar! laugh.gif

ETA: Causmicfire, I think that's a great idea about opening a fanworks thread for people to see all the contributions. That way we don't have to go through pages and pages to find things...

Everyone, you're very welcome... sorry I can's post the whole translation. ^^

@Kale Mustang - Of course we understand! Please take your time. smile.gif

I think that's a great idea about opening a fanworks thread for people to see all the contributions. That way we don't have to go through pages and pages to find things...

@Aribelle - Nop. That's why we also make "Festival Album" for each of these Royai festivals. It's a list of ALL of the contributed pieces with the links to each piece posted for that festival. For this year's Royai Day Festival, Kale Mustang has kindly volunteered and been assigned as the archiver of the Album. The idea is that the Archiver will keep track of all the Festival related pieces (that's including posters and banners and other pre-festival pieces that are related to that festival also) then make a list of links and turn it into some form of presentable album, and edit it into his/her post on June 11, so that we can always go back to it and find the reference list for all the materials contributed for this festival. smile.gif

@Causmicfire - Nice banner!! ^^
And, as for opening separate thread....since we got so many wonderful contributions for this festival, we could open up independent archive thread. But, for that we may have to have 3 separate threads (or maybe 4 this year) as the forum usage on our board dictates that we have to post fanfics in fanfics subforum, fanart and comics in fanart subforum, photo-manipulations such as banners and avatars and such should be posted in fanworks forum, and the collaborated writing by Kale Mustang and amestris_star would probably be classified as "Roleplay" writing, and probably should be posted in Roleplay Community, as, essentially, all the Roleplays are a form of story writing. So, therein lies the problem.. sad.gif The only place where we can have all these on one thread is in Spam Central forum, and we could do that if everyone would like this idea... ^^ Whatever you decide is fine for me. smile.gif

OT:
Speaking of the organizer... we haven't seen Liz (CodenameElizabeth) for a while, and I'm beginning to worry. Hope she is doing fine... unsure.gif

Thanks Tombow, I was sure you'd have the answers. The Album sounds like the best way to go about getting everything together.

I was actually just wondering about Liz yesterday, hopefully we'll se her soon.

@ Tombow: I'll try my best to compile the archive, but unfortunately may have to pass the duty onto someone else if I get too busy with work. I'll of course, let you know in advance, should the need arise.

Just wanted to give you guys fair warning and hope you all understand.

Thanks.

I wouldn't care about what people say. biggrin.gif If Roy can handle a super advanced kind of alchemy, he can also handle the basics, otherwise he wouldn't pass the written part of State alchemist exam. He can create false Maria Ross corpse, he can manage some vase! ohmy.gif

^ @SneakyRuler - I agree! I'm pretty sure Mustang can perform basic alchemy. Yap, we saw that when he created the piggy corpse thingy. smile.gif

@Causmicfire - Yeah, I wish we had some other way. Sorry... Anyway, if think the Album is the best option, then Album it is. ^^

@Kale Mustang - I'm not the organizer, so please consult Causmicfire on that one. ^^

Oh that's for sure. Papa Hawkeye wouldn't have accepted him as an apprentice either if he didn't know how carry out the basics. He's not as specialised as Ed in that (because Roy's specialisation is fire alchemy after all) but he definitely knows the basics.
