Personally, episode one is one of my favourites. It was really good, and when you watched it you were oblivious to the major dissapointments this series would bring about. Episode one was all omg-hype-its-FULLMETALALCHEMIST!! Pure happiness :'D
Then came episode 2. And 3. And 11. And 12. And 13. And the realization that this series was way too rushed. Oh, well...
I STILL want to like this series. But even while watching great episodes as 19, 26 etc, you can't ignore the fact that the beginning of the series is all messed up, IMO. To be able to overlook that, you have to try and look at this as a compliment to the FMA-franchise, and not a complete stand-alone series. For me, anyway. Because if I try to watch the earlier episodes whithout keeping the manga's plot in mind, it comes off as rather confusing and shallow at times.

^ agree i am a worshipper of episode 26 XD imo that was by far the best scripted ep with minimal scene cutting, a twist to my favourite manga scene that actually improved it for the anime media, ed smashing his hand through those gates was just epic, and left me with the feeling that i had just seen one of the best general anime episodes of my life XD ep 26 ftw!
Yeah, I finally got on for once. Thank you so much for bringing this to us Michiyo. I am watching the video right now, and finding it both enjoyable and extremely well-done; smooth transitions and timing. It is bad that I find this little movie more entertaining, meaningful, and clever than the actual new series? Hayate at the end is adorable.
Wow, I'd read this before, so I know what's going on, but at that one part where Roy's face changes from sad and grey to intense and red I was amazed. I wonder if they'll actual animate this at some point... it'd be very powerful with voices.
