Applied for a job as assisstant manager at the cheapy book shop in town. I am not keeping my hopes up on anything anymore, no job has even been polite enough to send me an e-mail saying 'no thanks.'

I guess some places are too busy to bother with that. I kind of dislike that, too.

Current Thoughts:

- So full on Sour Cream & Cheddar chips. laugh.gif
- Did some more Christmas shopping. The expenses are racking up . . .
- Wow. I finished Tom Jones. If anyone's seen how thick that thing is, you'd be happy to get through it if you had to do it, too.

Lol @ 13 year olds getting engaged, but considering the guy's no-sex-before-marriage policy as well as the fact that they plan on marrying at age 16, I'm positive that said engagement has nothing to do with marriage and everything to do with sex.

Honestly, this is an extreme case of what happens when an upbringing puts shame young people for wishing to explore any sort of sexuality outside of marriage; they wind up marrying young and for the wrong reasons. Marriage should not be pushed because both parties are young and horny but feel guilty for doing it without a contract. It doesn't help that they're also told it's wrong to masturbate.

It kind of seems that way to me, too. Besides, how can you really know that someone is "the one" when you're so young? Heck, even took me a long time . . .

I learned in my Shakespeare class today that 'knitting' was a euphemism for 'masturbation' back then.

I said nothing icky.

sure

@Tris: My best friend got engaged at 22 and it took him half a year to realize it was a dumb decision and that their relationship wouldn't work out. THIRTEEN? And their parents don't even KNOW? O_o Why would you WANT to get married at sixteen anyway? I mean, other than the whole free sex thing, but I mean, I can't imagine being married O_o

Ugh.

I have nothing written for my Nano. This is bad.

@Everyone - Yeah, I basically agree with what everyone's said on the matter. Though if I told her that...heads would roll. Definately.

I believe in abstaining from sex until marriage, but that doesn't mean I'll go out and get married next Tuesday just for a hawt night and not have regrets. Thinking he's "the one" is all well and good, but there's no way of knowing that when you're both thirteen and have been dating for less than a month.

So...I give it a week. Maybe a month. But that's stretching that, even. This isn't the first time she's made an idiotic decision, and it certainly isn't gonna be the last. I'll be there for her to toss a tissue to, but I won't be surprised. Nor can I say I'll be very sympathetic.

Maybe it's got something to do with bragging rights. You can at least tell your friends you're getting laid. Consistently.

I've been feeling illness coming on for a couple days. :/ Stuffiness and such. (In addition to this... thing in my chest that wants to be a cough but refuses to go ahead and just do it already.)

I'm also about 80 bajillion words behind in NaNo already, and honestly, I miss having a busy schedule.

Also, we're moving out by January 1st, and we don't know where yet. So, good riddance to getting a job. dry.gif

Many comments on young engagement, heck we could have started a debate topic...all we needed to do was find someone who believed 13 was a smart age to get engaged.

My friends are just coming out of the 'honeymoon' period of moving in with each other. Now they see each other all the time they've lost the spark of anticipation and it seems to be hitting them hard. I hope they get over it and learn that sex isn't everything in a relationship. Well more I hope a dwindling sex life IS the problem, and not part of a much wider issue.

Dammit, don't you hate it when you KNOW a piece of artwork is stolen but you can't find the original. Why are nearly all the theives on deviant 13 years old as well?
