I hope I put this in the right place.

As everybody knows the site has been having it's ups and downs the last couple of days.

Yesterday, here at work I was able to long on just fine and commence with much slacking. When I got home I tried to access the forums but I kept getting an error message. I tinkered with my computer a bit but as far as this site went nothing worked. All the other sites I visit regulary did come up just fine.

Has anybody else here had that problem where they could access the forum at work or school but couldn't when they got home, or vise-versa?

I really hope it's the site, last time something like this happened it meant my puter was getting ready to die an I had to buy a new hard drive. sad.gif

There was downtime today since i was at the datacenter messing around installing a new switch and router wink.gif

a good test to see what the problem may be is going to your command prompt and (on windows xp/2000 systems) typing

"nslookup fullmetal-alchemist.com"

it should return the following address: 69.16.150.50

Ok Bryantq I did the test and it came up with a different address than what you posted. I asked my computer geek friend about it and he said the problem was most likely on your end. I forgot to write down the exact message and number but I can get that tonight and post tomorrow.

EDIT:

Turns out the IP that comes up is mine. When I do the look-up it times out and gives the message. Timed out after 2 seconds but that's all I know about it.

I couldn't access the site with firefox.
I tried with IE and it worked.
I renewed my bookmarks, now both work fine.

it means your local DNS is not resolving the name fullmetal-alchemist.com to the proper ip address, hence why you cannot connect.

you SHOULD be able to considering that our DNS has been working flawlessly for quite a long time now wink.gif however, try typing this in your command prompt:

ipconfig /flushdns

also then try typing:

ping 69.16.150.50

and it should be giving you a response, if it does it means you can access the server.

Finally, try visiting www.dnsreports.com and entering fullmetal-alchemist.com, when its done scroll all the way to the bottom when it says WWW and if it works that means our server is just happy honky dorey and there is a problem with your ISP and having DNS resolution issues (which you could call them about).
