Loved that the "title card" was the map. Seems fitting as the brothers are going on adventure.
The sight of blind Roy was upsetting somehow. He's not my favorite character, but still. I felt slightly alarmed or uncomfortable.
But then...He was very cute, sitting in his hospital-clothes, trying to solve all the problems head on and stubbornly. Anyway, that whole scene was awesome.
*squea!!!* *cough!* Al! He looks older than the manga. biggrin.gif Voice a little spiffy, but I still love it, so I can't really hate it...
;_; Ling and Mei and all, and goodbye, it was beautiful. It had Brofistbump, yeah! It was dragged out and more emotional, but that's the way I like it! wink.gif I like to think that Fu's last words to Ling "Be a just king" (or something), had a great impact.
Do I spot...an applepie!?
Where's the hug!? Where is it! Don't go away! I want it! Where is it? Darm it where is it? (I was really afraid for a moment there. I thought the first door she opened was to the outside, and then it cut to the photos...) So, automail mechanics can fly?
It was beautiful. The eyecatch, too.
YES BOX! They're the same height! That's what I wanted! biggrin.gif
I almost squead irl when Selim waved good bye.
Holy Cow, why is he so da*n handsome?! And milk, lol! And so incredibly CUTE! AL! I love how he was animated in the café! crybaby.gif So handsome.
OMG, I love that paniced look Ed got when the train came!! Loved the blushes, and randomly Winry's hands when she starts to take back what she said! Whatever you deside what it was, it was perfect.
Photo-collage: Then the tears came...FALMAN IS HAVING KIDS?!? WITH WHO?!! (And HavocxRebecc yes plz.)
;_; Fin

And yes Paca, I agree, Riza cut her hair for a simple reason.
Hakkari, You are totally right. No doubt in my mind that's Shieska's children!

So we reach the END, I cried while watching it. I can't help it, this was the last episode FMA (I don't know about the movie that time)
Everything was like in the manga, but the thing is they keep using the same music again and again, it doesn't matter anyway. The content was more important^^
The animation was nicely done and Yes, Al do looks cute in the café and it made me laugh when he ordered milk xP, In that age, he still drinks milk, no wonder he grow taller than Ed xD
And the blushes of Ed made me wanna squeeze, I like what BONES did in that scene. Blushing Ed is just awesome. I also love his laughs. Jeez, I'll gonna miss that laugh, and his voice.
The younger Selim was just too shota, he looks terribly cute xP
The pictures on the end were nicely drawn especially Winry, I like her ace in the family photo. The Royai one and Roy's mustache haha.
Overall: It was just EPIC!.

Since nobody else seems to be saying it..

Olivier and Scar
Sitting in a tree
K-I-S-S-I-N-G
First comes love
Then comes marriage
Then comes a baby in a baby carriage!

Seriously, a lady in her late 30s must have considered her options and wouldn't risk the embarrassment of a Roy Mustang rejection.

Might as well asked Scar for his number in the last episode.

^ Speaking of no one else mentioning things....

Am I the only one that found it weird that at the end all the pictures were on the Rockbell home bulletin board and that picture of Scar was there?

Hey guys! First post, sorry, I was so busy, I JUST caught up and finished the series tonight.. this seems like an awesome forum btw... lot more mature than my Naruto forum, ugh! Wish I had come here sooner.

I loved this whole last series of eps... superbly done emotional moments, great action, great art/animation, and great ending... takes a lot for me to say great for all these things, but except for a few minor details, this was one of the best endings overall for any anime I have watched... some scenes approached those of "Hikaru no Go" and "Evangelion" which is a huge compliment on my part. This whole series (from part 1) had some cheesy eps, but man, did it really pick up in the last 10 or so.

Some of these points may be from 1 or 2 eps ago, and apologies for that, but this is my one and only change to contribute!

- I was impressed at the detail of "Father's" soul getting taken by the real "God." I am not used to seeing and did not expect all that... it seems the whole storyline was VERY well thought out and no detail was left unattended

- If that werent good enough, then they USE that and bring ED down there and he does the anti-Father response, and BAM, he gets what he wants, superb1 Although to me it was predictable, but in the perfect way.

- The end exchange between Winry and Ed was so well done, I cant compliment that enough... funny, emotional, sweet all perfectly wrapped up in one, gezuz... truly awesome... who writes this stuff??? (No seriously, who does? LOL, I dont pay attention but this really really impressed me; makes me wanna hire him/them!)

- One disappointment was how "Father" kept taking all the blows in such arrogant fashion thinking how he was invincible, while most of the other guys knew the attacks were "wasting" his souls... Father seemed so smart, how is he so stupid when it counted the most? could he not feel his souls/power diminishing? If he went on a counterattack quickly, he could have wiped out everyone in Central and saved enough to continue as God.... weird.

- Why doesnt Alphonse have his alchemy powers? Am I missing something?

- Why did Hohenheim die? He didnt give up his stone, and I didnt see anything in the fight that was a fatal blow... I guess he coulda died from the injuries, but I thought his death was a bit, ummmm, random, although the moment/setting he died in was appropriate.

- I dont understand why Havoc needs a stone more than Mustang.... I must have forgotten something about Havoc? Was he the one that lost an arm or something in the fight against Lust?

- Am I the only one that thinks Lady Armstrong is the sexiest girl in anime? Get me a girl like that!!!!!!!

- Doesnt May look like she is 7 yrs old? Haha and Alfonse is going to be with her... good ol' Japanese romance... imagine if u did that in an america PG rated show/movie.

- What is up with Selim? First he turns into a 1 inch long baby... and now he is normal? Or still a homon? And does the wifey know the truths now about Selim? Seems like she was kept in the dark about the fuhrer. Poor lady.

- Great closing monologue!

Ok, feel much better now, phew! LOL

1 - There's some speculation on that one. Most say it's simply becaause he used up all his souls and died of old age, aka however old he was caught up with him in one moment.

2 - This just shows that Mustang cares more for his men than he does himself. It's all about how he talks about protecting the people under him, and this is an example of that protection... in a more of a helping way than protecting.

ME THOUGHTS!!!!!
Keep in mind that my experience was slightly ruined because my brother wouldn't shut up while I was watching it, XD.

I pretty much loved the whole thing. When they showed Ling and Mei and Lan Fan and she said he was too greedy, I laughed. Greed and Ling were very similar(same primary ambitions) from the beginning anyways, so I doubt anything from Greed rubbed off on him. And the meer mention of Greed made me go, D:, *sadness*, 'cause he's awesomus.. and gone...

Lulz, I loved Ed's way of proposing. Stupid boys think they can solve/explain anything with Alchemy, XD.

When Winry's coming down the hall and out the door, I was thinkin', "Hurry up already, woman! They be waitin'!"

I can't thinkof anything else right now... But Xing looked very interesting, biggrin.gif.

LOL The Cow-sama writes it all. Hiromu Arakawa, she's the author of the original manga.

(and if you're wondering about the cow thing the author depicts herself as a cow because she grew up on a dairy farm)

I must say, I was impressed by the last two episodes. I mean every word, I loved those episodes. Even if the series itself never got to me that much, those last two episodes made up for everything that was wrong in my opinion.

There was a great mix of anime and manga. The scene settings were from teh manga but the added dialogues really made the end of hte story deeper. The last chapter of manga seemed to lack some emotional depth and that void was filled by these episodes. Loved the settings of Rain and Ray of Light although I would have loved to see the latter as the ending song for the whole anime.

The scene with Mustang and his men really touched me. Breda and co had been pretty much forgotten during the final battle so I was pleased to see Mustang interacting with his men. I was beginnng to think that Hawkeye was the only one that mattered to him. And yes, I did a happy dance on that small bit of Havoc we got. A it is always better than nothing.

It feels weird to hear Rie as the voice of hman Alphonse. I don't know whether it's because of hte near corpse body but the voice didn't suit him. It all seemed.. off. Well, I have always preffered the armor form to Al's true form, as I did with The Beast. Call me crazy but it's true dry.gif

EdWin was sweet, not too sweet but the right amount of it. Though teh scene was almost completely from the manga, if I remember right, it got me. The art style was gorgeous and the voice acting was great. Edward's last thoughts on teh train made me teary-eyed. I realised this would be the last time I hear Romi Park as Edward Elric (unless I go and watch the episodes I've missed). Goodbye, Romi, how can anyone replace you?

The pictures in the end were great, it reminded me of the ending of the first anime. Though it did leave some questions: Did Falman have children? Are Al and Mei canon? Did Ling And Ran Fan hit it off? Whta about Roy and Riza? And Havoc and Rebecca? (I forgot, yeah! Havoc can walk! biggrin.gif ) Why couldn't one of Edward's children have brown hair? And most of all, did Edward draw the moustache on Mustang?

Music was amazing. The piece called during many scenes until Winry opens the door was amazing though I have no idea what it is called. Trisha's lullaby broke me, I thought that picture was the end place. Why would I think that? I read the manga. Still, I wonder why Hologram was the ending song? In my opinion, it was the weakest of all the themes. Maybe Bones wanted to give it some reputation. Or maybe the lyrics fitted the ending: "I'm going to the world I haven't seen yet."

I have one quick question about the ending.

Question: Dr. Marcoh says he can help Mustang regain his vision with the philosopher's stone. However, from something Honeheim said earlier, isn't that impossible?

In Part 4 of FMA Brotherhood, somewhere around episode 40-ish. Hohehnheim sees Izumi and sticks his hand in her stomach to rearrange her organs and help her breathing. I remember Hohenheim saying something like, "I can't give you back your organs because they are a testament to your sins," or something along those lines. And Hohenheim has the power of (or rather, he is a) philosopher's stone. So, if Hoheneheim couldn't restore what Izumi lost for performing human transmutation, how would the philosopher's stone help restore what Mustang lost for performing transmutation?

Maybe Hohenheim had the power to restore Izumi's organs, but just didn't want to do that. If that's the case, it seems a bit out of character for Hohenheim.
Mustang is my favorite character, so I truly hope that he does get his vision back, but that part of the ending just doesn't feel right for me. Maybe I'm missing something.

Father did attack back a bit. He was trying most of the time to get more souls to make more philosopher stones, but kept on being attacked. He tried to eat greed, attacked the soldiers with guns, attacked mustang, and did the super explosion thing. But I would agree that he was a kind of disappointing opponent compared to the other amazing battles.

I don't remember the show ever saying Al didn't have alchemy? I know for sure Ed didn't (his failed clap on the roof). I'm pretty sure Al still does which is why he's headed to Xing to study Alkahistory.

I think Hohenheim just used up all the energy from the souls in his stone. Father already reclaimed a chunk of them. Then he used lot's of energy during the fight. Afterwards when he's talking with Major Armstrong, you see his skin "degrading." So, I guess it's implied that he's running out of energy and is dying.

Havoc was the guy who was half paralyzed (waste down) after the Lust fight. And like someone else said, it's because Mustang cares about his men. I remember in one episode, Mustang said something like "I'm leaving you behind for now, so you can catch up later" and Hawkeye added in something like "Mustang never abandons his subordinates". Or something like that.

Lol @ General Armstrong. I never thought that, but ok XD... I think alot of people really liked General Armstrong from what I've seen in other forums. My sister who watched Brotherhood thought Armstrong was the coolest girl character ever in anime. But, I never felt positively or negatively about Armstrong; for me, she was just kinda there. And I never once thought that she was hawt XD!

Yeah.. May is definitely less than 10. Al is 14 at the end? That's kind awk. Yeah, I agree it's weird. But Al never said that he liked her (romantically) directly.

About the Selim being a ridiculously small Baby, there's a funny Omake about that. It first makes a comment on how fast Selim has grown. Then, it shows Fuhrer's wife with Selim 5 years later and Selim is a giant.

Well... I don't agree with you. She seems to be a child of 11 years old.

In the begining of the series:
- Al is 14 years old
- May is 11 years old

During the promise day:
- Al is 15 years old
- May is 12 years old

When Al want traveler to Xing:
- Al is 17 years old
- May is 14 years old

In the last photo ("The new family"):
- Al is, at least, 19 years old, because Ed and Winry have 2 babies.
- Therefore, May is, at least, 16 years old.

So, I don't understand why you said that (sorry if my english is limited. I'm Portuguese). Al only have more 3 years than May. In addition, she grows in the last picture, getting the same height that Winry.

OK, here's my all-blackened speculation/reply:

I agree that Mustang shouldn't be able to get his eyesight back by being healed by a Ph. stone, and for the same reason -- it doesn't seem like Ph. stones can reverse/repair what Truth takes. It could be used to heal Havoc, though.

One thing I've seen proposed is that Mustang go through the Gate, and trade some of a Ph. stone for his eyesight back. I don't like that, because it isn't a sacrifice on Mustang's part. (I'm OK with Envy's sacrifice of some of his Ph. stone to pay for all the passages through the Gate out of Gluttony's stomach, because Envy is nearly entirely made up of Ph. stones and dies if he loses them all, so for him it was an actual sacrifice).

I like to think that Alkahestry healing + action-at-a-distance was used to swap one of his eyes with one of Riza's.

...
Yeah.. May is definitely less than 10. Al is 14 at the end? That's kind awk. Yeah, I agree it's weird. But Al never said that he liked her (romantically) directly.

The Al/May romance has an extenuating circumstance; remember that Al's body was bound to the armor when he was ten, and he's got no hormonal system to go through puberty, so emotionally and sexually he's still ten years old until he gets his body back.

So I wasn't able to watch the final episode since I'm not from the US and we don't have the channel where FMA is being aired. But Vic uploaded a video of his final lines in FMA:B if anyone's interested. happy.gif

Wait, is it ok to post it here? <---- It's very much relevant for this episode. Thank you so much for sharing it! ^^ ~ T.

Hey, I'm sorry to post this here because I'm not supposed to but this is the most active discussion on the website. I have a few questions.
1. Is there a website with regularly updated news for the series like Kanzenshuu.com for Dragon Ball?
2. Did the author ever in some capacity or other mention that she might some day write new material or have something produced as anime?
3. Where is it possible to read all the author's interviews in English?
4. Where can I find an English translation of the Chronicles guidebook?
5. Is there any difference between Brotherhood and the manga? I love the series a lot but if there is no difference I would much rather rewatch the anime than read the manga.
Thank you very much
