Nina was in about 2 episodes, so it wasn't like I MISSED her. I was sad about it though...I felt worse for Ed, to tell you the truth. It really scarred him, and we got to know HIM better as a character, therefore I actually felt more sympathy in that direction.

Also...

The Barry the Chopper thing got me more. To be so sure you're going to die...I know what that's like.

Forgive me for being so cold... I didn't feel anything.(seriously) sad.gif

That's because I missed the episodes where Nina was present.
I just saw the part when Nina became a dog... But still, I was so angry at tucker all the same.

She didn't become a dog. She was a chimera. "An 'animelike' creature created using alchemy."

And she was in episode 6, and 7. You can watch them on myspace.com, or in subb at youtube.com.

I found the real point of her death to be when her father turned her into a chimera... mainly because you can't go back from that point.
There I was angry at Tucker. What sort of father would do that to his own daughter?
When Scar killed her it was more of a conclusion to her already finished sad story than anything else. In the manga Tucker gets fried by Scar and then falls side by side with Nina/Alexander (I'm assuming Alexander is the dog's name)...
I got teary eyed.

Would it be horrible of me to say that I didn't cry when Nina got killed by Scar? ^^;

Honestly, I'm a fan of both her and her father.. :: I even uploaded an expression wallpaper of her in the wallpaper's section!::
Nina is the most cutest little girl I have ever seen in an anime, period!

But I didn't cry at all when she died, nor was I shocked or angry at Shou when he transmuted her and Alexander into a chimera.. mainly because I have an original character ( whom I made up long before I even watched FMA) who did the same thing to his daughter.. heh, so I can understand Shou's situation perfectly tongue.gif

I was however, angry at Scar for killing Nina/Alexander.. because in the original japanese and the manga, Nina wasn't in any pain at all; that was just something they'd put in the dub.

( When Hughes died however, now that's a different story altogether..I was crying like a baby)

And it is a shame that she died.. but I'm surprised that people never ask themselves the question of 'what would of happened if she had lived?' ...it wouldn't of been all sunshine and roses if Shou didn't go through with the transmutation either, you know.

At least Shou tried to bring Nina back ( for whatever reason, depending on your view of him) ..in body, mind and soul..

I loved her. She was the cutest thing, it was a pretty dramatic moment in the anime when she was turned into what she was.

Well I would imagine having your soul combined with a dog would have some effect on consciousness, self awareness, and a sense of identity. Remember, this is not Nina or Alexander; it’s a perversion of their respective identities. The feelings of that new creature were probably a misguided sense of loyalty (being fused with a dog) and the sorrow of being betrayed. Not to mention her fate would probably be no better than a laboratory animal's; to have continuous tests done on her.

Scar killed her because he believed it would release her from her anguish, it wasn't an act of pure malice. He doesn’t say, “you’re an abomination, I'll kill you!” he says that “It’s sad. There is no way to restore you from this body. At the very least rest in peace.”

QUOTE

At least Shou tried to bring Nina back..

I don't buy for a second that he was doing it out of any real sense of remorse or love. I can only see his efforts as a means to satisfy his own selfish desire to return things back to how they were before he f*cked up. Shou treated the personality of his former daughter as if it were not even consequential- he even mentions that the “new Nina will be superiour to the old one”. She was - it seemed - nothing more than a means by which he could stroke his own ego.

That said, its your opinion and I'm happy to "agree to disagree." smile.gif
