Flock (Quick explanations on "Flock" below..)
QUOTE
Flock is one file, containing over 300 files inside. Flock contains 153 Fonts, that self install, 158 brush packs for Photoshop 7 and up, self install, and over 50 additional packs for Photoshop 7 and up. Each pack, contains about 30-40 presets, all in one file, self install. We would estimate that Flock contains over 7000 individual presets, in addition to the 150 fonts. All inone file, one download, one install

(I'm opening this thread as per reaquest, and as an experiment.. if we don't get many responses I may close the thread later. ^^)

I'm willing to help and I have a question of my own.

Does anyone have any techniques that work well for text in banners? I can usually manage text in avatars, but I have problems blending it when I make banners. Any help, fonts, techniques or such that you all could offer would be great =D

Well, to get text for banners and such, i normally play around with blending options on the layers. You can add drop shadow, outer glow, change transparency and add gradient overlays.... embossing and beveling.... there's also plenty of styles all over the place you can dl or buy that you can apply to text.

Hope that helps...

Whoa! We have a Photoshop help thread now! Yay! I was wondering if people can share their cell-shading techniques.

BTW, I also watched the documentary of how the FMA movie was made. There was a part wherein there were so many people on PCs using Photoshop (not exactly sure but it looked it Photoshop, they can be using Macs though) and they painted the frames for the movie really quick! 1 picture full of line art looked like it will take them only 30 seconds to color it. They were just filling up sections of the image.

They probably have tons of presets for coloring the line art and they should... because thousands of line art have to be colored.

This is a wonderful idea Tombow! I generally use Photoshop for photograph enhancement, but I would really love to learn some advanced layering techniques and colouring techniques.

Ratzen: I saw that as well, and believe that the animators were using Photoshop CS2. (Which I want with all my heart and soul, but don't have the money for)

That isn't a very difficult thing to do. Merely use the magic wand tool, expand by a pixel, right-click->fill with foreground color. And I'm sure it was a huge image, so the little corners would be filled in as well. Oh, and it would all have to be set on multiply with the lineart in the foreground. And the cel-shading wouldn't take very long either. Though 30 seconds sure is a short time. But, hey, they're professionals who have been doing many a cel-shade. And, yes, of course there are color presets. Wouldn't want Ed's hair changing color throughout. *rambles on*

Thanks to Nil-chan for answering my question XD

Now I have another one! Um. I use GIMP, so...I was trying to make an animated GIF, and it's worked perfectly fine before, but now after I select which frames I want to extract from the movie, it thinks and then...nothing happens. I don't really NEED this part of GIMP, but I would like to know what's wrong with it...it works just fine with everything else, just when I try to get the extracted frames, it doesn't do anything.

@ Ailuro

Cel-shading a single image would probably take me at least 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete. LOL. Gah. Pros... XD They do it in 30 seconds...

But tracing the scanned drawing and turning it into clean line art is usually what takes me long to do.

BTW, thanks for the tips! But I don't use the fill function for cel-shading. I use a brush set to 100% opacity. Usually 20-30 pixels in size.

I don't count myself as anywhere near an expert, but I can help!

Personally, for lineart, I use Adobe Illustrator, it makes it so much more easier and cleaner...

This is the girl who taught me how to do nice clean line art.

It's really easy to understand and just detailed enough to point out the basics.

That's probably why it takes you so long. Trust Aily, the magic wand tool is the way to go. You can also use the pen tool to make a selection around the section you want to color and then fill it. It takes a little longer, but you don't have to worry about going back and getting the tiny nooks and cranny's. But the magic wand is a lifesaver if your trying to get done fast.

This sounds like a great Idea. =D
The only sad thing is: I don't have Photoshop. I almost don't dare asking if anyone knows where to dl it.
I really want to improve in drawing on pc, and in adding effects and such. I only got paint and it takes houres, no days to colour in my scanned pictures. T^T
So can anyone -please- help me?

^Well, regardless of who has done it and who hasn't, the point is, it shouldn't be here on the forums.

Midkipblader-It's quite expensive, but you can get Photoshop at the Adobe Store. You can also look for it slightly cheeper in places like eBay and the Academic Superstore. happy.gif

Nice and non-controversial.

If anyone needs help, you can ask here or pm me, I can handle this software pretty good by now XD
