To be honest, I don't think it matters if we see them holding onto each other or not. Really. I'll say it, there are far more important things going on. Come on guys, we don't need to extrapolate it to make it mean something. tongue.gif

Totally agreed! XD

Thanks for the screencaps, guys! They make me happy on the inside, even if they're not exactly what was in the manga. But I'm going to have to disagree with what was said earlier--Izumi and Roy are definitely having a very steamy love affair. 'Cause Izumi doesn't love Sig at all. And Roy and Riza were never united in dedication to bettering Amestris. Nope. Not one bit. tongue.gif

What's worrying me is that there is diddly squat about 19's dub. I want to know how it all worked out!

lol I just love when you make those jokes. lol

But, really, people, don't you think you're exaggerating a little bit?? (not you, Jacksparrow! I know you're being ironic) When Bones puts on a "plus" on Royai, everybody goes over the roof about it, and when they take details off, than everybody goes ranting about how Bones and Irie must hate Royai... ¬¬' I mean, really, of course we do love Royai and of course they're cannon,! But this is not a Royai anime: it's Fullmetal! Is it really gonna make any difference if Riza's hand is on his arm or on his chest?
Seriously, there's a lot more important things going on, both in Royai and in the series to mind ourselves with such a small thing.

I mean, geez, I hope the fans of FMA won't become "purist trekkies", 'cause that's really sad. (but, then, again, I've already many people, not only Royai fans go down that lane in the last year... sad.gif)

And if people really do need something like that detail to realize Royai is cannon... well, I would just have say they need to pay more attention to the series, 'cause Arakawa is not the type to 'spell' all the subtleties to the fans.
In short: what makes Royai Royai is not a hand in the chest or not. That doesn't mean squat. It's sweet, but doesn't mean squat. XD

I do understand that adding or deleting details will never change the nature of Royai, yet I don't even understand if it was necessary to make that change.
We may argue that they left out the Jealous!Roy scene and other tidbits for more focus on the main storyline, but *this* I can't think of any logical reason but for the intention to play down the Royai part.

Well, I never thought that Bones actually shipped Royai to begin with, especially if I compare Bones to Square Enix XD.

EDIT: I dunno how to put it, it didn't hurt to give a close shot of Izumi holding Roy, so why was it necessary to change the position of Roy and Hawkeye? And why adding that much space between them? I know it is much easier to draw them that way, but they are professionals, so it won't cost them much more time to animate it after the manga.
I thought most of the Royai fans who have already read 107 would prefer to leave the scene untouched, and I am sure the anime staff also knows it.

That's what I was saying too lol. Little details can be nice, but I'm not going to assume too much if they're not included either.

What's worrying me is that there is diddly squat about 19's dub. I want to know how it all worked out!

If it pleases you, yes, Riza yelled "You...B&%$#!!" at Lust in the last night's broadcasting premier of English dubbed FMA:B episode 19 on Adult Swim in U.S., and, in my opinion, it was nicely done. biggrin.gif

-----

On totally unrelated matter, have you guys, by any chance, assigned anyone as an archiver for this year's Royai Day Celebration? unsure.gif
And, if you haven't, anyone would like to take charge of finding any volunteer to be the archiver for this year's Royai Day Celebration?
I'm already overseeing way way way too many stuff for the board right now, because of the ending of the series and such, and I can even barely be here regularly these days (I'm taking a brief break and taking a time to visit this thread today. ^^), so... if any of the "regular posters" of this thread would like to take charge, and find someone who would volunteer and make an archive album (a.k.a. a list of links for this year's contributions for Royai Day Celebrations for the Royai thread,) or be the archiver for this year's Royai Day Celebration, that would be highly appreciated... If got any questions on "how to make archive album" etc., please ask our resident veteran archiver Cousmicfire, since she is awesome on this. biggrin.gif
ETA: Read jacksparrow589's post below that Causmicfire will be taking care of the archiving of this year's Royai Day celebration. ^^
Thank you, JS for the info, and thank you, Causmicfire for all you do for us!! You're awesome! happy.gif

-----

And, OT:
Happy 21st birthday, Michiyo-!! biggrin.gif
(In case any newer posters are wondering... yes, on "fan club"/"club house" threads in our Character discussion forum, including this "Royai" thread, it is all right to occasionally add brief personal OT comment of congrats and such to other posters of the thread, provided they are posted as an addendum to the poster's main post. . ^^)

Agreed.
I watched the dub for the first time and I fell in love with it~

OMG I love Lust's dub voice even more than the original~

And Travis kinda reminds me of Ohkawa while Colleen (did I get the names right) sounds more like Fumiko~

Yes, I must agree, dub episode 19 was definitely very brilliant! Colleen did an AMAZING job! Originally that scene didn't bring tears to my eyes, but watching it dubbed certainly did! biggrin.gif I loved (as unintentionally sadistic as it sounds) how pained Riza sounded when she yelled "You b*tch!!!"

Omg episode 19 dub was amazing! I love Colleen's Riza. She's so.. snarky. XD "Yeah, and I shot him in the head, but he didn't really seem to mind." Hahaha!

And of course, the fight with Lust was fantastic! I was impressed! I'm glad I finally caught up with the dub. I stayed up all night to watch the other episodes.

Keep in mind this comes from a person who always loves whatever she sees/reads/hears first: I loved the dub of episode 19! And I loved the way the translation was shifted a little to get rid of the 'Japanese' mentality while it stayed in the spirit of the Japanese dub. Colleen was great, her emotional breakdown was painful to watch/hear and Travis was good as well. My only complaint would be Barry the Chopper at the end but that doesn't have to do a thing with royai so I let it be laugh.gif

For this episode, I'll wait for fansubs to appear as I saw only lagging KeyHole version of it which isn't a good thing to base any opinion upon.

@Turdaewen I don't think we start wars over such a stupidity, especially here where tolerance and love for royai and FMA in general unites us. Some may be a little disappointed at the moment but that's just a side effect of being overly excited for something that didn't happen.
I say nothing lost - a hand gesture which is a sign of support and kindness and should be taken as such, may it come from Izumi or Riza.
(Is it that bad with hardcore trekkies? I don't watch international communities and trek fans in my country are not that many to exclude others just because their opinions on Enterprise/ 2009 movie doesn't match. "Privilege" of post-communistic state with history of America-bashing biggrin.gif )

EDIT: Happy birthday, Michiyo! Now you're allowed to drink alcohol all around the world!

Sorry for spreading the depression everywhere.
I have a pairing spell that I hope Royai can break~
Yepp, disappointment may be the right word to describe this little, desparate fangirl's cravings for the slightest bit of Royai possible

@SneakyRuler: Thanks for the birthday wishes! ^^

I usually don’t watch English dubbed episodes, but this time I looked into episode 19 and it was very good! Riza’s voice actress did a great job with the screaming and crying.
But I still prefer the Japanese VAs. Miki Shinichiro and Orikasa Fumiko are perfect for Roy and Riza. They make the great scenes from the manga even more awesome, and that’s why I love episodes 19, 54 and 59. biggrin.gif

For me it's always Ohkawa and Neya...blame me for being too nostalgic.

BTW, I watched the subbed version of Episode 62 and somehow I can't complain anymore.
Sorry for the over-analyzing, but it's something in the atmosphere of Royai that no one can interfere.

Tombow--Causmicfire said she'd compile a list of links from the festival when she had the time. Is that what you're talking about?

And now I'm gonna have to wait who-knows-how-long to see 19's dub at the rate [as] puts Brotherhood up lately! Thanks for the info, everyone! (Tombow--Half of it is the translation, half of it is how well it's acted. Am I happy that the language indicates Riza being righteously pissed off? Yes. And I have faith that it was well-done, but I really want to hear it now!)

And did I see it's Michiyo-'s birthday? Happy birthday! smile.gif

<-Is it OK that I don't put that in spoilers?

Usually, if your comment applies to something not general (like x dislike) and you discuss happenings in anime episode over 30 or later manga chapters, it's better if you use them wink.gif
Generally, there might be people coming to this forums who don't read manga and didn't catch up on Brotherhood yet so it's better to be on the safe side biggrin.gif

I HATED Miki Shinichiro first 4 episodes laugh.gif And I slightly disliked him after that... until Hughes' funeral , if I recall correctly. Now he's become "my Roy" but geez, it took some time. Strangely, he was the only one I had issues with even though he's wonderful voice actor and there were other changes in the voice cast (which I didn't mind at all or got used to almost immediately).
