Don't feel like discussing the matter here. I'm over it.

Don't speak for all Americans. In fact everything that you have represented here makes me sad for America because your inflexibility and inability to see an issue from outside of an overly zealous nationalistic agenda is killing America.

BTW, there is no true free speech anywhere in the world. In the United States, there are still special utterances that are not considered free. In addition to this, there other things that if said or put into print can allow for civil penalties.

I cannot speak more because it would be the same as talking to a wall. You do not process the fact that America is not the greatest country in the world as there is no greatest country in the world. America is on par with many of the other countries that are also not perfect. We have somethings that we do really well and many that we do not do well (the same for all countries).

I'm overzealous and inflexible for making legitimate facts and arguments? Did you READ my posts? Or is your disdain for Americans like me who think for themselves and only for themselves who stand up for what they believe so great that anything I say to back myself up makes you frustrated? I made legitimate points which oddly enough if you can believe it from an overzealous, fat lazy American like me, can be backed up with sources ;) Our nation is one that is not frozen in time without any kind of growth. We keep evolving constantly. As for your bit on free speech, those types of things are involved with the federal government more often than not, and besides, the way Washington is today, many lawmakers must look back on the Constitution and the principles this country was founded on.

"Talking to a wall," typical. Very typical. Because I'm not educated enough or I'm too ignorant?

And when did I say that America was the greatest country on earth? laugh.gif I might think it is. I might not. But I do know that I am proud to be a part of a nation that is unique on its own, and in my opinion, the most free nation on earth. That may not make it the best country, but it's the best choice for me and only me to swear my allegiance to. Nothing is perfect. No country is. You don't see me waving a flag and making pro-American statements. But here are the facts: we are one of the first to respond to any natural disaster around the globe, such as the tsunami years ago and recently, the earthquake in Hati. Do you think that merits something? I don't. Because we are demonstrating American values as we should be.

I'm a proud American individual who deeply believes in the values and principles founded by the Founding Fathers. Thinkers like Ben Franklin, Thomas Paine, even English statesmen like Edmund Burke, and documents like the Federalist Papers, influence my thoughts. Believe me there are things America has done that has disappointed me greatly. But I know in my heart that the founding principles are all that matter.

I don't know what I did to deserve this, all I did was acknowledge that July 4th is an important date in American history. That's my crime. Whatever. Let's agree to disagree.

@ Zonkie I'd take Palin over Obummer any day...

I don't understand why people piss all over her... so what if her daughter has a child out of wedlock, so what if she can see Russia from her backyard... at least she stands up for what she believes in and doesn't spread Socialistic ideals across the Union.... fetch... I hope she does win just to spite all those Democrats that try to smear her...

Dear England,

I would gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today... laugh.gif No but really, if you send me "real" cadbury candy, I would gladly send you Lucky Charms.... in the exchange of this trade, I may consider coming back since my current Commander and Chief prefers to "play rounds of golf" instead of tending to the serious issues at hand and "file lawsuits against perfectly legal and reasonable laws" that are created to protect the citizens of America.... *sighs* the past is the past, I forgive the excessive tax and I hope you forgive the destruction all that tea.... XD

Sincerly,

America

tongue.gif

I'm aware this was a tad late but hey I wasn't around HERE on the fourth... happy.gif
