^Yeah, since they don't really taste like milk or anything. smile.gif

I have two questions...

One, does it ever say in the manga that Madame Christmas is Roy's aunt?

Two, I don't get the significance of Kimblee's State Alchemist title. "Crimson" might be for blood since he is so ruthless in battle, but "Lotus?" I've heard a lotus is a symbol of sexuality but that doesn't seem quite what the name was supposed to convey...

If I remember right, it was never said Madam Christmas is Roy's aunt by blood. I recall they said she is his foster mother so that's a different thing.

About Kimbley, I can't help you, sorry. tongue.gif I assume the title "Crimson" comes from the fact that when something explodes, there will be blood. biggrin.gif

Madam Christmas is Roy's aunt on his father's side. It was said in the Official Character Guide.
Here's the page from the book:
http://i55.tinypic.com/2a94nkm.jpg
<It says: "Aunt on Mustang's father's side" and from the Chinese character used there, we can tell that she is a younger sister of Mustang's father. ~ Tombow>

As for Kimblee, I found this on the FMA Wiki site:
QUOTE
The kanji that makes up Kimblee's State Alchemist name in Japanese (紅蓮 Guren) is a source of contention among translators. While the word "Guren" can be translated as "Crimson", the kanji (紅蓮) suggests another possible translation that reads "Red Lotus" or "Crimson Lotus". As the Crimson Lotus is often used as symbolism for fiery explosions, it is most likely that Red Lotus or Crimson Lotus is Kimblee's true name despite Guren having been translated as Crimson in the first anime series and both English dubs.

~ Why does Lust (FMA-1) lose her heritage (i.e. her skin color changed) when she becomes a Homunculus? ~

Yeah why? From what we can tell at least the Homunculi characters look similar to how they looked as humans, other than Sloth (FMA-1) losing her wavy hair (unless she straightens it), so why would Lust lose her Ishbalan qualities/heritage (i.e. darker skin)?
(I'm talking about Homunculi in FMA-1 anime, btw)

Are all Homunculi meant to look pale like ghosts or something?

Good point, I must admit. Maybe the Homunculi are suppused to be Zomi-like since they really aren't human anymore. If they aren't human, they really can't have a heritage.

So.. when thinking about it, when becoming Homunculus, Gluttony probably lost his original body shape, Lust lost her heritage and Envy lost his gender...? laugh.gif

Dead people tend to be pale. Also it was a very silly plot element that was badly thought out.

Well, she was drawn pale by Arakawa, and then by the time they came up with her past in season 2, it was too late for them to go back and change it.

I must start off saying that I have two questions that I couldn't figure out on my own.

I have a question that has bugged me since I saw this episode... on FMA Brotherhood in the Briggs Mountains when Alphonse's hair gets screwed up in Buccaneer's automail, how come Ed never fixes it like when every other time Al gets busted up?

My next question is also from FMA2.

And next when Gluttony is killed and "Father" brings him back to life, how come he never brings Lust back?

I just gotta know XD

Uh...maybe Ed thought the "plume" was not functionally important enough to bother fixing it? unsure.gif

<We may move this one to FMA:Brotherhood anime Q&A thread later. ^^>

@ Tombow I see what your saying but Alphonse did seem pretty upset and it wouldn't have taken Ed more than half a minute to repair it... I guess I shouldn't fuss so much about little things... and what about my question on lust?

My opinion: Homonculi have the philosopher's stone powering them at their core, but within their PS they also have what I imagine comes close to a soul, the 'sin' that Father wanted to dispose of/externalise. I can't remember exactly, but I think father absorbed him, definitely retrieving Gluttony's soul, in the same way that he drank the solution distilled from Greed, retrieving both his PS and the 'sin' of Greed. By turning himself into a PS, Ed manages to separate Pride's soul from his PS, resulting in the little foetus thing, but of course Mustang didn't really bother with that and just barbecued Lust alive, destroying the 'sin' in the process. smile.gif Pitty we didn't see her embryonic form, that would have probably been interesting.

@Flame Alchemist12:
For one thing, it really isn't that important to Alphonse's normal functions, I guess. And maybe... in line with the law of conservation of mass, the 'hair' left on Alphonse isn't enough to make it long again, if you transmute it... (Does that make sense? Lol.) Well, Ed could try to fix it, but then again the hair will probably become much thinner, considering Ed will have to extend it to its original length.

Okay, with that said, now I'm wondering if Al's armor ever thins out if Ed has to fix it every time it gets broken..?
(Or maybe it doesn't, if Ed just has the old pieces and just transmutes them together?) Never mind. XD;

For the second question...
As what was already explained--Gluttony was absorbed by Father, and he did say himself that he would bring Gluttony back to life with his memories still intact and all that. It's very different from Lust's situation, wherein she was killed, and all of her PS was used up trying to regenerate. Remember how the PS turned to dust/disintegrated at the end? So it's gone forever; Lust can no longer be revived. Unlike Gluttony, he still had a bit of PS left, so Father absorbed him and gave him a "new life". He didn't really die fully yet, so yeah. XD

If ever there are things I should've put spoiler tags on but didn't, I'm really sorry. I just dunno which ones are spoilers and which aren't anymore. >_<

I've always wondered why Dante never tried to body jump into a Homunculus?
Anyone have any theories on this?

Lust: Maybe you are right. Where did I come from, and where will I go when I die? Maybe all this time, that is what I wanted... the freedom to find out.

^ I always wondered that too...maybe since they were not human she thought something would go wrong? Or maybe she just plain saw herself as above them? Those were my theories, I don't really know for sure though.
