While I'm not expecting him to get his sight back right off the bat, it would make me happy if at the end, there was a little thing that hinted that there's some kind of treatment that could help him. Not even get his vision back the way it was, but at least give him some sort of vision in one eye maybe.

Also, I am very excited for the inevitable Royai that's coming. It probably won't go anything like this, but here's what I imagine...

Riza: Oh, colonel. *Grabs his face towards her* cry.gif
Roy: Your eyes, I can't see them anymore. sorry.gif
Riza: It's alright. You still have me. sad.gif
Blah blah blah kiss inlove.gif

@black~hayate and anyone else who feels ignored at times: Sometimes this thread moves so fast that I don't have time to respond to everyone. Sometimes I want to respond to someone, and then I forget whose point I wanted to respond to because I have read even more of the thread. But back to my point, I still read your posts and think about what was being said, even if I don't write anything down.

Honestly the events of 102 bummed me out, but I am trying to think of all the wonderful Royai moments that can be given from this.

Haha! Well, after all, Riza probably saw this coming after Lust's FORESHADOWING OF DOOM in chapter 39, so she probably decided to train him extra hard just in case.... rolleyes.gif

Haha.... Kidding....

So I watched the episode today, then before the preview there was this ad about the next FMA dvd. I wasn't sure if it was Riza (in military uniform, hair down) that I saw so I checked the Japanese FMA website. It seems like they're gonna include a bonus episode about Riza and Winry?

Check it out

If this was mentioned before, forgive me for not reading the previous pages XD

David Blunkett is blind, and he's the Education Secretary, being blind didn't stop him.

Yep. Heck, our Prime Minister (Gordon Brown) is also blind in one eye and that hasn't stopped him either. A lot of people don't know that. tongue.gif

About Roy, though. While I can accept that him being blind is most likely final, it is by no means fair. That's what irks me about all of this; he didn't ask for it, he didn't provoke it in any way. I know that life, in general, is never fair. However there comes a point where it just takes the biscuit.

Do you have a link to this "Simple People" gaiden, I've never even heard of it before.

And yes this thread moves way too fast.

It is definitely unfair, but at the same I kind of respect Arakawa more for having the guts to take a darker turn like that (no pun intended lol). I'm not particularly thrilled about what happened to Roy but I'm willing to live with it for the sake of being shaken up a little. When the mangaka is willing to do something drastic like that it just adds more suspense and uncertainty because you can't take anything for granted, and I far prefer it that way.

Also, while I'm glad she's not dead, I feel like things would be unbalanced if Riza lived and Roy got his sight back. The situation they are in is so severe...in my mind it's unrealistic for there not to be losses.

I'm just a pessimistic person these days lol. Must be all this negative energy from finals DX

^Pretty much my feelings exactly. (Right down to the finals. tongue.gif)

I don't think you're being pessimist, though, so much as you're being a realist. You're only being pessimistic if you think that Roy can't make it to the top now. He can; he'll just have to work that much harder. And I don't doubt that he will. He didn't give up when Maes died, he didn't give up on Havoc, and he's obigated to both Riza and Ed to make it to the top. Come on--do you really think Riza's gonna say, "Okay, screw this. You're blind, so you'll never make it"? I can see Ed being a bit more sympathetic, but he didn't give up after he lost an arm and a leg, and Al--now there's the prime example for Roy to follow. My point is, he'll do what he can, as he always has, and we as readers just have to sit back and let the chips fall where they will.

I agreed with jacksparrow, Roy will never give up, and if he tries to, we all know that Riza and everyone will put him back in his place.

Yeah, I can't see something like this make him stop trying to reach his goal. I highly doubt Riza would stand for that tongue.gif
