HEY all,

Have a few suggestions that may broaden your perspectives:

Making TRANSMUTATION CIRCLES:

GEOMETRIC DESIGNS are very apparent in these Circles.
Can you get either DRAFTING TEMPLATES or REGULAR SCHOOL STUDENT TEMPLATES? You can TRACE/DRAW with these on paper, and pretty much draw MOST of the TRANSMUTATION CIRCLES you see in FMA. The SCHOOL STUDENT TEMPLATES are pretty inexpensive, plastic and easy to use. I think you can find them in just about any store that sells school supplies.

The SYMBOLS used to create the CIRCLES:

Just recently(JAN(?)FEB/MAR/APRIL(?)of 2005), there was a COVER feature, in one of the major ANIME mags, about FMA, and the TRANS-CIRCLES- the one's used in the TVshow,... a breakdown of their individual symbolic components and their meanings. GET and SCOPE-OUT that article, if you can( I wish I could remember the name of the magazine I saw & looked through but,... I'm not getting anything...)-... lot's of valuable data, there.

2 websites to check out:

http://www.symbols.com

http://www.symbols.net

Lot's of additional information on the INDIVIDUAL SYMBOLIC COMPONENTS OF THE TRANSMUTATION CIRCLES, plus just TONS of data on all types of symbols- accross the board!

Once you have THE TEMPLATES and THE SYMBOL INFORMATION, a bit of paper, and A FEW EXAMPLES OF THE TRANSMUTATION CIRCLES USED IN THE TV SHOW,... then, just relax,.. get creative,.. try a few designs out, and.. just draw. As I mentioned earlier, most of the circles are just a bunch of geometric designs put together, and since you're just, mostly, tracing the templates... it really shouldn't be that hard. As you practice more, your sense of design, and symbol comprehension, should improve. PLEASE DON'T BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELVES,... DURING YOUR INITIAL FIRST TRIES. Relax,.. be cool, and enjoy the process of it all. You'll be crankin' out Ubercool Trans.Circles in no time!

BTW: FMA TRANSMUTATION CIRCLES come under the heading of MAGICAL TALISMANS and/or MAGICAL/MYSTICAL SCHEMAS OR SEALS.
There are materials out there( books/websites/etc.) available to help one learn about them & their construction(... if you really feel like you want to go that DEEP into them).

Unfortunately, though,... I can't think of a way for you all to SHOW US your handi-work, outside of scanning the image, and then putting them in the gallery.

TATTOOS:

Good suggestions:

Placing a Tat on a part of the skin that usually doesn't wrinkle or sag too much, over a good course of time.

Getting a TRY-OUT Tattoo, which you can put on and take off, over time.
Helps ya make up your mind about it.
Stained Wings had a good Idea- getting a Henna Tat.
I think the process is called MENDI( an East Indian word?), and when done correctly, looks unbelievably cool. Check it out!

Oops! Gotta go.
Hope I've helped a bit-
and not hurt any feelings.

Ciao.

In a world with no remorse or sympathy, one must look upon all things indifferently. Never let your feelings overcome you! Feelings are for people who can't rely on themselves. But then sometimes feelings are all we have, so then we must rely on them..... WAIT!! This whole SENTENCE is a PARADOX!! Can it END?

I was looking through the website and saw an old post regarding a section on the boards for Alchemy info. Anyway, i had an idea of what kind of Alchemy circles you all would design. Post them under me. Since i just came up with this i don't have one to post just yet. Anyone interested? Or has this been done before?? laugh.gif

Recently I challenged myself to draw the more complicated Transmutation Circles, just to see if I could pull off the artistry (is that a word?). Take a look and let me know how what you think! Please! I started with the simple ones and went more complex:

Homunculus Sealing Circle:

Human Transmutation Circle (variation 1):

Grand Arcanum Transmutation Circle:

Human Transmutation Circle (variation 2) [omg, this took so freakin long]:

(P.S.: I didn't trace anything! I did have to use a compass, but who wouldn't?)

I made one! It makes fog! You see, it bends the air and water around it and brings it down to the earth.

That's odd. I actually saw meaning in a bunch of shapes... I think I'll try one- they seem pretty easy.
