So episode 8 was supposed to explain how Ed got the "Full Metal" title.

And they said that it was because of his talents and his was "full metal".

But what exactly does that mean?

Their explanation is cyclic wink.gif

Yeah, that kinda confused me too.

I mean he really isn't full metal. And in episode 7 there was also a guy with a metal arm.

The guy that knocked Ed out when they were taking Tucker away or whatever.

Anyway, I guess just cuz it sounds really cool and heavy. smile.gif

Think about it. Fullmetal auto-mail arm and leg....

As far as full metal:
I swear they did that just to give people a reason to get Ed confused with Al and make Ed angry

Episode 8 is a good episode after 7. It really shows a decision process in Ed. He had to overcome his comfort zone again and now has to make a decision regarding his determination for his goals.

As far as full metal:

I swear they did that just to give people a reason to get Ed confused with Al and make Ed angry

Interesting theory. And its definitely not something I would put past Roy Mustang.

I know his arm and leg are all metal, but wouldn't that make him the HalfMetal Alchemist?

If there's no explanation beyond "it sounds cool" and they could give Ed grief with it later, I guess that's good enough.
I thought there might be some cultural reference or something that would have made it make more sense in a Japanese context.
